The Project Planner is responsible for contract management and project control of the Reedy Creek Energy Services (RCES) Project Portfolio. This person is responsible for the contractor process from implementation, execution, control and completion. This person will ensure RCID and WDW contract procedures are being adhered for contract development, bid and award, change orders, invoicing and contract payment applications. Contract management, financial management, project management and construction knowledge are required to understand the various utility projects, as well the ability to communicate both verbally and in writing with the our internal and external clients and stakeholders. Strong communication and computer skills are needed to be successful to initiate contracts and to follow the progression of a job with correspondence, field directives, and all other documentation processes to complete a project efficiently.
This role reports to the Program Manager of RCES.
Responsibilities : Your role:- Project Safety - Obtaining final approval for a contractor submitted safety plan, and compliance with the project safety plan
- Project Support - Support Project Managers, Operations Managers and Engineering to manage RCID and WDW contracts from implementation until closeout. Reviewing change orders to ensure reasonable and accurate amounts for approval, initiate contracts, and work authorizations. Monitoring and modifying contracts to ensure proper funding and durations are maintained for contracts and service agreements
- Partner Collaboration - Responsible for Bid Review and Award Process in collaboration with Engineering, Operations and Project Management including proposal review, response to bidder questions, and issuing acceptance of proposals
- Finance Partner - Managing cost by reviewing and timely processing of invoices and contract payment applications and researching financial discrepancies. Support Project and Program Manager with forecasting to ensure accurate project spending and forecasting of RCES project portfolio. Ensuring timely processing of request for information (RFI), issuance of field directives, development of cost estimates with engineering and consultants, conversion to change orders, obtaining appropriate change order approval
Basic Qualifications : What we're looking for:- Two years of applicable experience in Engineering, Construction, Contract Management, Project Management or utility operations
- Demonstrated knowledge of construction and project management processes, purchasing and contract management.
- Demonstrated knowledge of construction finance (budgets, cash flows,projections, etc.)
- Demonstrated experience in vendor negotiations and bidding
- Basic knowledge of construction methods, materials and the ability to interpret design, drawings and specifications
- Effective communication and facilitation skills
- Exceptional organizational and planning skills
- Ability to multitask, highly organized and detail-oriented
- Demonstrated project management computer skills (Microsoft Project or equivalent, Microsoft Office Suite, Contract Management Software, SAP)
Preferred Qualifications: How you stand out:- Four years of applicable experience in Engineering, Construction, Contract Management, Project Management or utility operations.
- Demonstrated experience with estimating and bidding processes.
- Demonstrated ability to develop budgets and cash flow projections.
- Demonstrated process development and improvement skills.
- Demonstrated experience in managing and scheduling projects.
- Completion of an Internship or Co-op Program in an applicable discipline.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
Required Education : - Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (Engineering, Construction, Project Management)
