Find your future with us. This position will provide support to the International Space Station (ISS) as well as several other related projects.

In support of the Program, we are currently seeking Mass Properties Engineer (Level 3) to join the team. This position requires proficiency in the mass properties discipline and knowledge of mass properties analysis for spacecraft.

Primary duties will include but are not limited to providing mass properties design and integration support related to the International Space Station (ISS). This will require providing Vehicle Integration real-time mission support. Position works with Project Leads and Designers supporting control, calculation, monitoring, and reporting of mass properties across a diverse range of project complexity. Will utilize various CAD software packages in the calculation of mass properties. Will also provide support to ISS sustaining mass properties task including integration of orbital replacement hardware and visiting vehicle data into the ISS mass properties model. Additionally, will support integrated vehicle performance analysis, anomaly and issue resolution.

Additional responsibilities will include:

  • Estimating, calculating, and verifying mass, center of gravity and inertia.
  • Maintain Mass Properties accounting systems and generate reports
  • Work with Responsible Engineers to establish target weights for components and unit-level specifications
  • Lead Mass Properties testing from component thru unit-level items
  • Interface with NASA ISS International Partners
  • Brief Mass Properties related topics to senior management and customers
  • Provide Mass Properties uncertainty analysis
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently are required.

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance, for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.

**This position is contingent upon clearance verification and program / customer concurrence.**

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • BS in Engineering with 5 or more years’ experience
  • Demonstrated history of generating and approving technical documentation and reports associated with mass properties

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • BDS experience preferred but not required
  • ISS experience preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of Mass Properties Control of Space Vehicles

Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
