The Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) Long Term Disability (LTD) Vocational Rehabilitation Program (VRP) is seeking a Regional Coordinator (Québec) . The Regional Coordinator leads a team of Rehabilitation Specialists who work remotely and are focused on the vocational transition of qualifying, released CAF members as they pursue life after military service.

As part of the larger Wellness, Disability and Life team at Manulife, our team has the distinct privilege of providing services to current and former members of the CAF. The CAF LTD VRP is part of the overall employer sponsored Long Term Disability (LTD) plan offered to qualifying members of the CAF. The Regional Coordinator accountabilities include:

• Providing direction on rehabilitation services for their team (in a remote capacity)
• Leadership; leading a team of Rehabilitation Specialists, providing support, managing workload, staffing, performance management
• Monitoring service levels; analyzing, reporting & reacting to various measurement reporting
• Liaising with Regional Claims offices, Transition Centres, Veterans Affairs Canada, and other military service providers to aid in a seamless CAF member transition
• Managing escalated customer and staff concerns
• Presenting to CAF at SCAN seminars, as well as to Manulife team members as needed
• Participating in strategy and planning as a member of the National CAF LTD VRP leadership team

A key component of this role is coaching and mentoring Rehabilitation Specialists in order to promote competent and timely vocational rehabilitation decisions.

Knowledge and experience:

• Bilingualism (English/French) (to work both with customers and as part of the larger CAF LTD VRP team)
• Relevant College or University education
• Strong understanding of the Canadian Armed Forces, preferably actual military experience as a former serving member, or experience as a previous employee of the Department of National Defence (DND)
• Vocational Rehabilitation or Functional Rehabilitation experience and industry knowledge (preferred), Long Term Disability experience (asset)
• Previous Leadership experience would be an asset
• Ability to proactively coach employees about rehabilitation case management and customer interactions, as well as promote employee training opportunities & career advancement
• Ability to prioritize work effectively under tight deadlines
• Experience and knowledge in fair rehabilitation case assessment and management practices
• Ability to influence and negotiate with both internal & external partners
• Excellent interpersonal skills & team building skills
• General knowledge of company policies, systems and functions (would be an asset)
