The Group Benefits Solutions Delivery organization is a diverse team of Configuration Analysts, Business Systems Analysts, Project Managers & Program Managers, all working towards the common goal of ensuring the customer is at the center of everything we do. As a Lead Business Systems Analyst in the Group Benefits Solutions Delivery organization in Cary NC, you are responsible to act as the primary liaison between Business Users, Configuration team, Quality Assurance, and Project teams to analyze user needs, and to participate in the configuration activity on the MetLife Group Insurance Platform.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead development of functional requirements definition and design documentation for MGI Platform in the scope of configuration Management; facilitates testing and training.
  • Become a subject matter expert to have a deep understand on the MGI Platform data model, event messages and integration implementation and assist programs.
  • Participate in the configuration & scripting activities on the platform.
  • Manage user expectations and requirements scope
  • Work closely with Project Manager, architects, developers, Test team, business users/BAs and applicable outside entities (vendors and others)
  • Contribute to development of user guides, reference manuals, training materials and code release artifacts as appropriate
  • Actively participates in change management activities
  • Works with Project Manager to ensure compliance to System Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Provides estimates for BSA work efforts on new projects and for on-going forecasting

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Engineering or related field
  • 7+ years business systems analysis experience, or comparable business and technical experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with focused attention to details, as well as demonstrated professionalism and time/task management skills; ability to establish strong relationships
  • Significant Software Development Life Cycle knowledge and experience, or comparable methodologies
  • Microsoft Suite of Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio (or other design tools)
  • Strong analytical skills with demonstrated ability to apply analysis to actionable insights
  • Comfort with data analysis (basic SQL) and any form of scripting or programming (VBA, VB Macros, JavaScript, etc.)

Preferred:

  • 3+ years’ experience with Data Models of both relationship DB and document DB like MongoDB
  • 3+ years’ experience with XML, JSON Payloads
  • Experience working in Financial Services, Insurance and/or Banking experience is preferred
  • Experience in any object-oriented language.
  • Technical experience with software that are enabled via configuration such as Majesco.
  • Experience translating business requirements into customer-facing solutions with focus on end-user experience/usability.
  • Familiarity with cloud solutions, DevOps & CI/CD.
  • Familiarity with Java, React JS, JavaScript, Nodejs, Microservices, Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Azure.
  • Agile/Lean experience
