Job Description

Quizlet’s mission is to help students (and their teachers) practice and master whatever they are learning. Every month more than 50 million active learners from 130 countries practice and master more than 300 million study sets on every conceivable topic and subject. We are developing new learning experiences by modeling how students learn and drawing upon knowledge acquisition, retention, and pedagogy in cognitive science. We are always seeking to help students master any subject by optimizing study efficiency and engagement. For this role you will be part of the Growth Marketing team, a newly formed team responsible for growing Quizlet’s user base globally. You will be focused on building and managing an international content strategy, helping new Quizlet users find content in search engines and other platforms that meet the needs of their intent and lead to them becoming long-term users of Quizlet. You will work closely with our technical SEO and international teams to bring Quizlet to key markets over the coming years. We are looking for people who are comfortable in uncertainty, who aren’t afraid to get their hands dirty and take risks, but who can look for opportunities to build scalable, repeatable systems and operations that will allow us to grow sustainably.

Some of the projects you will be working on include:

    • Owning SEO home page traffic for our top markets.
    • Identifying and analyzing content gaps where we can potentially acquire new students in key international markets.
    • Developing long-form content for key terms and themes to our user base, including blog posts, webinars, videos, etc.
    • Working to promote content through a combination of link building, PR and social tactics.
    • Collaborate with other marketing channel owners to promote content through owned channels when necessary
    • Create and own a landing page strategy for consumers of content as they come to Quizlet.
    • Hire and manage a team of contractors or full-time employees to scale content efforts to key markets.

Required Qualifications:

    • 4-7 years working in digital marketing with at least three spent in SEO or content marketing.
    • Excellent writing skills, both writing for engagement and for search engines.
    • Strong project management and organization skills, with a natural ability to prioritize.
    • Ownership mentality, the ability to move projects quickly both on your own or with key collaborators.
    • Deep knowledge of SEO, as well as the tools and technology needed for managing global content at scale.
    • Experience working with third-parties on outreach and content promotion.
    • Experience creating non-written forms of content, particularly video.
    • Strong analytical skills and ability to translate into KPIs that ladder into overall company goals.

Preferred Qualifications:

    • Desire to grow into a manager role as the team scales, or people management experience.
    • Advanced SQL knowledge, the ability to build your own tables, etc.
