Perficient currently has a career opportunity for a Senior Software Engineer or Software Engineer in our Chicago, Seattle, or Toronto office.

Software Engineers are responsible for the implementation and configuration of the common software platform supporting our cloud product offerings including web applications, cloud services, cloud storage and Azure platform services. As a member of our product software engineering team, our engineers will seek and follow modern development best practices for engineering, continuous integration, test automation, and issue resolution in order to produce quality software product offerings for our customers.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for implementing part or all of the technical solution for our internal cloud software services or customer software products, in accordance with an agreed technical design
• Occasionally responsible for providing a detailed technical design for enterprise solutions
• Understands a broad spectrum of technology in order to provide part or all of a detailed technical design which meets requirements
• Provides technical support and input on the application of technology to product support engineers
• Provides advice on solution and integration opportunities when applicable
• Contributes to knowledge tools and communities and ensures project learning’s are documented and shared. Solves diverse and complex problems.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of professional experience and a Bachelor of Computer Science or equivalent degree; without a degree, three additional years of relevant professional experience (3+ years in total)
• Sufficient depth and breadth of technical knowledge to be individually responsible for the implementation of deliverables within a field of expertise.
• Strong knowledge in Microsoft .Net and at least three major technology areas such as node.js, React, javascript, or similar
• Azure development experience desired, but not required
• Ability to perform/drive resolution of problems on combinations and interactions of products
• Ability to apply technology to solve business problems
• Ability to communicate and present complex issues with assurance and confidence
• Self-learner who has a passion for keeping their technology skill set current with the latest tools, development techniques and technology advancements.
• Demonstrates the use of creative thinking skills including: questioning, listening, ideas development, permission and rapport, and influencing
• Owns and produces technical documentation. Ability to translate technical details into concise and easy to understand written form. Ability to write relevant components of a technical document. Ability to translate verbal requirements from face to face meetings into requirements documents and user stories
• Ablity to discuss (within own area of expertise) requirements with team members, and to challenge and clarify when appropriate. Capable of estimating the amount of effort required to deliver assigned tasks.
