Job Summary

This Sr. professional role is responsible for developing a tops-down seasonal financial target and a bottoms-up sales plan for a designated retail channel. The retail planner will leverage collaborative cross-functional relationships to enable the Retail Pod to meet quarterly sales and margin objectives, ensure GTM strategies come to life in the market, and inventory sell-through is managed to target.

Key Accountabilities and Scope of Role

20% - Retail Financial Planning

  • Partner with Retail POD lead, Retail Ops, Merch & Finance to develop Financial Targets.
  • Translate financial targets to seasonal plans broken out by Retail KPI’s as well as by Category for assigned Retail channel that support the long-term strategic growth plan for the Region
  • Utilize Sales Plan to identify opportunities and risks to the Financial Target at monthly OTB meetings
  • Communicate potential target adjustment opportunities and risks as they arise

35% - Pre-Season Planning

  • Partner with Regional Merch, and POD lead to define category growth plans and define seasonal line architecture aligned with financial targets and Retail POD strategy
  • Set & track performance against SKU Targets for assortment that yields productivity while still offering Segmentation in the market
  • Manage space and capacity plans of stores and align with Merch on optimal product mix in this
  • Leverage Regional Merch partner to gain strong command of seasonal product strategies, big stories, distribution segmentation, etc.

35% - In-Season Planning

  • Guide allocations team in volumes necessary to achieve sales targets and build up stock for peak periods
  • Track sell through per category and seasonality and advise on actions needed including but not limited to, replenishment advise, marketing/VM suggestions and price promotional activities
  • Support business with like for like performance analysis on store as well as category level.
  • Reporting & Analysis such as WSSI, OTB, Sell-through and revenue reporting
  • Build and maintain Account Group-Level Sales Plans that substantiate financial targets
  • Drive stabilization of the Sales Plan from pass to pass, and reconcile Sales Plans to Retail Channel needs
  • Consults with Retail POD lead & Merchandising partners to develop pre-season and in-season strategies to include merchandise assortments, segmentation, promotions, markdowns, and returns to optimize business results.

Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Finance, Mathematics or another relevant field preferred.

Experience: 3+ years of experience in Sales or Merch Planning, Demand Planning, or Replenishment Planning.

Licenses/ Certifications: None required

Critical Skills

  • Strong business acumen specific to Retailers’ Sales, Margin, Inventory & Service
  • Proven Planning capability
  • Ability to build cross-functional relationships through strong communication and interpersonal skills

Travel Requirements: This position may be required to travel within the region up to 25% of the time
