The SWOT (Standardized Workflow, Operations, and Tools) Associate Technical Project Manager is a role critical to the evolution of Pearson from a publishing organization to a digital courseware solutions provider.
The SWOT Associate Technical Project Manager will work closely with the Senior Technical Project managers and Managers across SWOT in the assessment and documentation of the capabilities and functionality of a variety of tools we use in the workflow; QuAD (Question Authoring and Delivery), Elm (next-generation assessment and interactive authoring tool), Site Builder, and the MyLabs and Mastering tools. This work enables the editorial, content development, production, and Digital Studio teams to create world-class digital content at scale, and offers our customers unparalleled stability. The SWOT Associate Technical Project Manager will also focus on ensuring that operational efficiencies are maintained as teams migrate to CITE tools from legacy content-building systems, and that issues with the tools are prioritized correctly across Higher Education and are addressed quickly. They will also assist with any required communication around updates to or maintenance of the tool, and overall compliance to established protocols necessary for each output (MyLab and Mastering, Pearson eText, and Revel) are understood by the discipline teams.
The SWOT Associate Technical Project Manager will assist in coordinating and communicating issues, documenting affected titles, and ensuring priorities are understood and communicated to the relevant product teams. They will also assist as needed with User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and presentations/training for internal teams and vendors. And they will manage the communication of any changes on reported issues to the discipline team(s), manage communication between discipline team members and the Technology Product teams, and will assist in escalating any critical global issues with tools capabilities to the Director, Standardized Capabilities and Tools for appropriate mitigation and executive escalation.
The SWOT Associate Technical Project Manager works closely with the Digital Studio/Media Producers working on the CITE tools and has accountability for the appropriate use of these tools and output of a properly executed and coded content by ensuring production teams follow the approved processes and guidelines. They will assist in the training and maintenance of process documentation.
Due to the fluid nature of the work related to CITE tools, it must be understood that the day-to-day functions of this position may change, depending on priority needs and platform state.

Job Duties
Planning: Helps onboard teams to approved processes and guidelines related to development of interactives in QuAD and, eventually, Elm. Collaborates with digital content teams to ensure content is being developed in the most stable, efficient manner using the proper tools. Anticipates and adjusts for problems and roadblocks. Measures performance against goals, evaluates results.
Risk identification and mitigation: Serves as a point of escalation for Digital Studio/media production teams to resolve QuAD and Elm issues. Communicates new processes. Ensures questions or issues are addressed quickly.
Problem solving: Interacts with decision makers/stakeholders to resolve conflicts between product, technology and business teams with various aspects of issues resolution. Makes and implements decisions compatible with organizational and business goals. Defines issues/needs thoroughly and accurately. Analyzes impact of decisions before executing them.
Leadership: Establishes alliances with other departments and organizations to assess potential partnerships in order to mitigate issues. Demonstrates initiative and assumes responsibility for successes and failures. Plans strategically to minimize situations of a reactive nature.
