Fixed Term Staff Attorney at Vrbo, an Expedia Group Brand

Are you interested in a fixed term opportunity of 9 months?

We are seeking a smart and pragmatic lawyer with experience of advising on French ecommerce, advertising, and consumer law and regulatory issues. You will work on a broad range of matters dealing with our brands in France as the key French-speaking legal contact working closely with business and other partner teams.

You will join the Vrbo EU legal team based in Paris and report to the Senior Director, Head of EMEA legal affairs in a dynamic, challenging and fun environment where you can be creative, synergic and do your best work as part of our highly respected legal team.

What you’ll do:

•Advising on French consumer and ecommerce legal requirements applying to Vrbo brands and websites and related products (e.g., vacation rentals)
•Drafting and negotiating commercial agreements (including but not limited to sales, marketing, advertising, supplier, inter-company agreements)
•Collaborating with key business contacts and internal partners such as privacy, security, tax, and treasury and implementing strategy for the Vrbo brands
•Monitoring local and European regulations that impact the Vrbo brand in France and advising and supporting the Government Relations team
•Managing other legal tasks as they arise, which may include support on strategic transactions, regulatory investigations, and litigation support

Who you’ll be:

•Fluent in English and French. Additional language skills a plus.
•You are a lawyer qualified to practice in France with experience either in-house or in a reputable law-firm advising in consumer and e-commerce areas.
•You are able to learn and integrate into complicated and dynamic businesses, proactively advising on a combination of legal and business issues
•You have strong communication and legal skills to facilitate becoming a trusted partner of the business team
•You have a can-do attitude, able to assess key risks while maintaining strong attention to detail and technical skills.
•You can balance a wide range of matters with minimal supervision
