Do you have experience in Commercial Lines? Are you comfortable in the general insurance arena, including property, liability, worker’s compensation and bonds and looking to make a move? Are you a professional who has general knowledge of risk management practices and the professional ethics required to function within a risk management department?

How will you make an impact?

As a colleague with experience in Commercial Lines, you will work within the Risk Management Department onsite at Aon’s client through Aon Global Risk Consulting (AGRC) in the Detroit Metro area. As part of the Aon family, you will have access to best practices, research, and tools to help you excel onsite.

What will you day look like?

  • You will apply your knowledge of the general insurance industry, including property, liability, worker’s compensation and bonds to support renewals of domestic and global insurance programs
  • Showcase your solid analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis via MS Excel, MS Access (and other software tools)
  • Extract auto liability, product liability and general liability data from data warehouse
  • Collect, organize and analyze data in support of existing and future insurance programs
  • Support analytical work including data management (data warehouse), perform loss forecasting, accruals, self-insured and cash flow analysis
  • Gather and analyze data on exposures, loss history and standard and unique coverage needs
  • Maintain effective and productive relationships with internal and external contacts
  • Perform submission assembly/creation and manage open items lists and responds to ad-hoc requests
  • Actively support and monitor the renewal process including issuing (at the direction of the Client) or following-up for binder, policies and endorsement

To be successful in the role, you should have:

  • 3 – 5 years of experience working in an insurance organization, specifically in Commercial Lines
  • Ability to work with various parties, including underwriters, brokers, lawyers, etc.
  • Proficiency in PC office products strong MS Access and MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint and MS Outlook is required
  • Solid communication skills, written and oral
  • Interpersonal skills needed to maintain good working relationships with brokers, carriers, vendors and internal clients
  • Responsiveness to the firm’s needs and the needs of Aon’s client, and a generally positive attitude toward the firm and the risk management department
  • A good work ethic; i.e., punctuality and regular attendance through prior work history

Professional Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Risk Management/Business related curriculum preferred
