We're an experienced team , the founders have each built and sold companies before. Ammon and Guillaume founded Socialcam ( acquired by Autodesk for $60 million ) and Harj was the first partner hired at Y Combinator since its founding. VP Engineering As our VP of Engineering, you will be responsible for leading and growing exponentially our engineering teams. Your mission will be critical to the success and growth of Triplebyte and you will be reporting directly to the CEO, in San Francisco. You will be one of the key player bringing our product and strategic vision to fruition. Your core mission will be scaling our engineering practices and our team of talented engineers. We have 15 engineers now and we need you to bring us to 40 by the end of 2020. You will do this by hiring the best talents, empowering engineers, helping them grow while maintaining a first class engineering culture. We're an engineering-driven culture focused on delivering value to our customers. We do this by building the best product we can build.

Role Responsibilities

• Scale our engineering team from 15 engineers to 40 over the next year, while keeping a focus on diversity (the good news is that you have access to the world's best recruiting platform to help with this).
• Grow and nurture teams as needed, hire, promote, manage and mentor leaders for each of them.
• Run a best-in-class engineering process to maximize work quality and team productivity.
• Keep and grow our engineering culture, focus on building the best product and providing value.
• Keep yourself, team leads and Engineering as a whole accountable at all time.
• Focus on results while thinking strategically and balancing both short and long term strategies.
• Partner with the execs, especially Growth and Product, to make sure Engineering is contributing at maximum capacity toward achieving our vision.
• Facilitate delivery of cross team initiatives.

90-Day plan

• Completely take over Engineering, own it and report progress to the CEO.
• Build a thorough and extensive knowledge off our infrastructure.
• Identify, propose and implement solution to our current engineering structure deficiencies.
• Make your first few hires.
• Setup teams and hire/promote leaders for each of them.
• Establish strong relationships with every team members and with your peers in the company.

What You Need to be Successful

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 5 in a leadership position.
• Strong track record as a high performing leader building and managing large teams, including managers.
• Experience building and scaling teams through hyper-growth.
• Experience working on consumer/marketplace products.
• Extensive interviewing experience.
• You thrive on autonomy and responsibility and in a highly ambiguous environment.
