Director, Product Marketing

Ellucian is seeking a Director in Product Marketing to join Ellucian’s Marketing organization to support the growth of a leading, higher education-focused technology company. This role will help drive the marketing strategy, positioning and messaging for Ellucian’s higher education student success focused solutions including Ellucian CRM Recruit, Ellucian CRM Advise and Ellucian Degree Works.

Reporting directly to the VP, Solutions Marketing, this person will work with counterparts across sales, product management, professional services, marketing and business development to position solutions, ultimately developing sales pipeline and enablement material to support global sales objectives. This position will ensure our unique and market changing solutions are globally woven into all marketing materials as well as stand-alone assets for his or her assigned products.

The ideal candidate will have experience with B2B enterprise CRM software, with higher education industry experience being a plus. You must be will to roll-up your sleeves, possess relationship-building skills, and be a strong communicator who is thoughtful, collaborative, strategic, and results-oriented.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop thoughtful annual and quarterly go-to-market strategies designed to raise awareness, establish our reputation as a thought leader globally, and to drive leads and sales for an international team (multi-channel lead generation campaigns).
  • Create product messaging, positioning and use-cases to be used across all marketing channels – web channels, sales channels, marketing assets, etc.
  • Identify and collaborate on the set of solution-related assets needed to support the student success portfolio strategy, e.g. website copy, case studies, infographics, videos, product demos, presentations, white papers, data sheets, etc.
  • Identify external channels and influencers for proliferation of solution messaging including channel partners, websites, professional events, social channels and groups, etc.
  • Collaborate on the content marketing and campaign strategies and work with other parts of marketing organization to ensure they are executed.
  • Partner closely with the sales and channel partner teams to develop compelling sales enablement tools specifically for the region the solution is being marketed in and support the sales strategy.

Requirements:

  • Successful track record (7+ years of experience) of high-impact product marketing in the technology industry, CRM experience a plus
  • Experience collaborating with key partners/brands in powerful joint go-to-market campaigns
  • Experience working closely in partnership with customer-facing teams (customer success, sales, services)
  • Exceptional writing, presenting and story-telling skills that reach target audiences in a meaningful way
  • Proven ability to measure and report on key performance metrics
  • Effectively work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Manage projects and work against established deadlines
  • Ability to travel up to 10% as needed
  • Higher education experience a plus
  • Experience with Ellucian CRM Recruit, Ellucian CRM Advise and Ellucian Degree Works a plus
