Treyarch is searching for an Art Project Manager to drive production for our Global Art content teams. The ideal candidate is a master problem solver, reviewing all the art content requests, producing a roadmap, boiling that down to an actionable and achievable plan laying out who’s going to deliver what and when, then expertly collaborate with cross-functional partners to deliver best in class content for the next Treyarch title.
What you’ll do:
The Role
- Manage asset production for Treyarch from concept to delivery: overseeing, coordinating, tracking and managing activities cross-functionally to ensure that project goals are completed on time and on budget. The role will work closely with the Characters, Weapons, Vehicles and Player Animation teams within Treyarch as well as teams at Activision, including Marketing, Digital and Public Relations and other external partners.
The Responsibilities
- Plan (start to finish) all content for Weapons, Vehicles, Characters and Player Animation for both the main game and post launch digital content seasons
- Identify requirements and develop a roadmap including planning long terms strategies, resource allocations, identifying risk and developing mitigation plans to ensure on time deliveries
- Establish and communicate clear goals and schedule deadlines to ensure our deliverables look amazing and come in on-time
- Manage multiple tasks simultaneously and perform in different capacities, all while maintaining attention to detail
- Lead process improvement initiatives with a keen focus on scalable systems and agility
- Leverage expertise in project management and collaboration tools (e.g. JIRA, Shotgun) to foster transparency and quantitative reporting with a focus on identifying and addressing inefficiencies
- Work side-by-side with department leads to plot the best course for content development
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders, including management, engineering, sound artists to guide assets through the development pipeline and into the game while ensuring team buy-in, informed decision-making, and development efficiency
- Ensure alignment with production and design partners on priorities and timelines, in addition to forwarding project momentum and awareness of content strategy.
The Day to Day
- Own production schedule for asset deliveries and responsibility for delivering those assets on-time and on-budget including tracking and updating progress of all assets, as well as managing expectations of various clients
- Guide sprint planning prioritization and maintain an easy to parse dashboard for tracking progress
- Maintain up-to-date documentation and scheduling information by taking notes and disseminating information to the team
- Responsible for supervising the assignment and execution of tasks for individual artists
- Represent and advocate for the groups you partner with both internally and externally and ensure thorough and timely communication and decision making between key stakeholders, communicate status, escalate issues as needed, organize meetings, align priorities while focusing on the execution of business goals
- Proactively identify bottlenecks, issues and risks, and take appropriate steps to resolve issues and roadblocks, including looking far down the road to identify risk and build mitigation strategies
- Maintain and manage incoming requests and outgoing deliverables to the publisher and other external partners (cg houses, marketing firms, etc.)
- Provide weekly schedule and risk reports to Executive Producer and other stakeholders
The People
- Hire, manage, and mentor additional staff, as needed
- Provided regular mentorship, coaching, and guidance to art leadership, building their confidence and capabilities to overcome people management and production challenges
- Active relationship management and cultivation of a healthy and collaborative co-development model between internal development teams, external development partners, and Publisher
- Positive team members with the ability to motivate individual artists as well as the team as a whole
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of professional work experience as a Producer or Project Manager is required, preferably in video games, digital/print marketing, VFX house, post-production, or other similar digital production company
- Proven track record in project management on large and complex projects
- Effective multi-tasker with the ability to operate in an incredibly fast-paced environment
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with best in class time/project management skills and keen foresight
- Superior verbal and written communication skills; comfortable and effective at communicating proactively and directly to all levels in any situation
- Consistent follow-through, ability to manage and direct communication and ensure transparency and visibility
- Highly motivated and hardworking
- Good analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- The ability to identify flawed or incorrect plans before or during production
- Some understanding of 3d and 2d modeling and rigging (Background as an artist (3d or 2d) is preferred, but not a requirement)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PPT) and production database tools Jira and Shotgun
