  • JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Manufacturing Supervisor, theMechanical Assemblers on 1st shift will perform a wide variety of mechanical assembly will be responsible for building difficult and complex units by performing the following duties:

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Follows manufacturing, quality and engineering work instructions and procedures to perform a wide variety of assembly operations.
  • Utilizes small hand tools such as soldering irons, wire strippers, crimpers, wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, and hammers.
  • Installs components to be integrated into sub-assembly and assembly units.
  • Responsible for accurate labor reporting, checking paperwork, and following routers/recording documentation as necessary
  • Maintain a Foreign Object Detection (FOD) free work area in clean, safe, operational condition.
  • Responsible for proper material handling and FOD free part, carts, and totes.
  • Makes own set-ups, alignments and adjustments maintaining tolerance in accordance with work instructions and blueprints.
  • Disassembles, modifies, reworks, refurbishes, reassembles, and tests units as required.
  • May provide work leadership to lower level assemblers through Observes all environmental, health and safety regulations and policies in performance of daily performance
  • Maintains production and equipment records.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel.
  • Frequently required to stand, sit, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Frequently walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Lift and/or move from ground level up 30 pounds.
  • Strong communication skills, and must be able to work independently in addition as part of a team.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in manufacturing ( specifically brazing or plating house) industry
  • Well organized with solid judgment; able to multitask and adjust to changing priorities.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; risk of electrical shock; vibration; and occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be provided as required.

Safety Glasses and Steel Toe Shoes are required in all production areas at all times.

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
