Job Description
The Director, Regional Marketing - Asia is responsible for interfacing with internal and external contacts, across the Asia direct markets that we serve to execute global marketing and product strategies/activities and coordinate the development and implementation of marketing activities at a country and regional level. The specific markets include Japan, Korea, India, Taiwan and China.
The leader in this role will support the implementation and development of marketing processes and strategies to ensure adoption of the globally prioritized procedures, and perform a role of key liaison for the country marketing leaders and our various corporate marketing functions.
Roles & Responsibilities:
• Assist the commercial marketing leaders in creating portfolio solutions that are relevant to the local market that include items like procedures, product, quantify-the-impact tools, and customer events.
• Scale peer-to-peer engagements for both surgeon and hospital key opinion leaders (KOLs) for the region. This will entail interactions with pan-Asia societies and, where it makes sense, leveraging US and European societies and dV KOLs.
• Partner with Corporate Marketing to develop a consistent and comprehensive onboarding plan for new marketing hires.
• Working with the ISI Business School and Corporate Marketing Training department, conduct marketing-specific manager and leadership development programs that enhances competencies and grows future global marketing leaders.
• Working side-by-side with general managers, establish a set of key performance indicators (KPIs) that can be used to measure the effectiveness of each country’s marketing organization.
• Train the local marketing leaders on Intuitive business programs (i.e. LRM) , including effectively setting a long range plan to drive procedure and portfolio adoption.
• Using experience and process knowledge, create stronger alignment between the country marketers and their sales counterparts.
• Be a conduit of competitive intelligence for the markets and partner with Corporate Marketing to establish best positioning and messaging relative to competition.
• Develop regional KOLs to develop and implement leading robotic clinical education programs and symposia to drive competency and utilization of da Vinci surgery.
• Partner with the Market Research team to identify unique customer needs, new market and product opportunities, scientific developments, and analyze market trends.
• Attend relevant congresses, courses and other programs that facilitate assessment of clinicians’ current thoughts, opinions and discussion in areas of strategic interest for the region.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
• BS/BA in relevant discipline required; MBA preferred
• 15+ years of medical device marketing experience leading the creation and development of marketing programs and enablement; prior working experience in Asia is a plus
• Experience developing, implementing, and developing leading marketing processes, programs Proven ability to lead and develop high performing leaders and teams
• Experience in successfully identifying and executing the right strategies to close marketing and sales enablement opportunities
• Experience with working in both a corporate and country level marketing team
• Effective change agent with stakeholder/client management experience
• Be a collaborative individual able to advise and influence a wide range of internal and external people at all levels of the company.
• Demonstrate sound judgement and integrity and be known for building a working environment based on mutual respect and trust
• Proficiency in CRM (salesforce.com) technology and other enablement platforms
• Experience launching and managing marketing training programs tailored towards multiple learning styles
• Executive presence with excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated business and technical competency
• 50% international travel required
• Fluent in English; additional Asian language skills is a plus
