About Our Site

Our Melbourne CBD site is home to over 500 employees working across our Air Traffic Management, Vehicles & Tactical Systems and E-Security businesses. Our Opportunity

From take-off to landing, Thales offers the most complete range of solutions to provide dynamic Air Traffic Services to support today's growing domestic and international travel requirements. Utilising this knowledge and experience Thales Australia will deliver a harmonised Civil/Military Air Traffic Management System (OneSKY) in Australia to Airservices Australia and Defence. This will enable a new level of safety and efficiency, while also reducing delays for the travelling public and providing opportunities to improve environmental outcomes. OneSKY will transform Australia’s sky and we are proud to be partners in its delivery.

Inside OneSKY, TopSkyNG is the new ATM system, currently under development and you will be part of the key challenges which are to develop, validate and deliver a new ATM system to be deployed in the Australia sky. Belonging to TopSkyNg team, more than 150 people, you will be the person in charge to define all the activities linked to the development of TopSKyNG Software to ensure the deliveries meets the expectation in term of productivity, quality and timing. More precisely, you will be in charge to supervise and manage all Software activities defined in the Sw Workpackage.

Responsibilities

  • Promote and allow good and harmonized deployment of process, tools and means in accordance with the Software Management Plan.
  • Provide technical leadership and assume overall accountability for successful execution of the Software activities, including requirements analysis, test module generation, continuous integration test and definition of generic acceptance criteria for deliveries.
  • Communicate regularly with System Engineering Managers (SEMs), Project Design, Authorities (PDAs), Workpackage Manager (WPMs) and other Control Account (SOS, IVVA, CMATS, I&D)
  • Report a regular status to TopSkyNg project
  • Define and maintain Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to monitor progress
  • Tailor and drive continuous improvement of local processes in line with group policies, Agility and Lean Practises
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through collaborative work in project teams, capitalisation of data, involvement of transverse functions and co-operation between the control Account.

About you

  • Strong System and Software experience of large, complex, real time software based systems
  • Degree in Engineering, IT or a related discipline and relevant industrial experience in System and Software engineering.
  • Strong knowledge in lean and agile methodology
  • Software standard (DO178, DO278) and associated processes.
  • Experience working in a multi-disciplined engineering environment a plus
  • Knowledge of Air Traffic Management
