Job Description

Description:This position is part of the team supporting F-22 aircraft modifications at Elmendorf AFB, AK. Responsible for inspecting modifications to F22 Fighter coatings, structures, assemblies, systems, components, parts and material during heavy depot level maintenance. Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals; understanding symbols, flags and general notes. Inspect for quality, completeness, proper function and adherence to engineering and technical data and planning. Perform Work Book Review and Validation to ensure work instructions are robust to maintain the current processes and achieve product quality as required by the customer. Perform Foreign Object Damage (FOD), Organizational Standardization Evaluation Program (OSEP) and other audits and report results to management. Ability to work with precision measuring instruments, micrometers, gauges, calipers and standard scales. Required to effectively interact with engineering, production, customers and/or their representatives. Provide interpretation of inspection results or other QC dispositions as required. Complete, maintain and disposition required records of all inspections and findings.
* Must be able to obtain a DOD Secret Security Clearance.
* Must have an Interim Secret Clearance prior to starting.
*Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Considered candidates must be capable of working first, (1st), second (2nd), or third (3rd) shift(s) dependent on customer needs.
Must be willing and capable of deploying based on customer needs.
- Must be willing to work any shift as required to support the customer, including weekends
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Must be able to pass a visual acuity screening
Basic Qualifications:
(1) year experience as a quality control inspector / quality assurance / QA in an aircraft maintenance environment
(2) Have 2 years of recent (within the past 5 years) military aircraft maintenance experience.
(3) Experienced in inspection of aircraft and ground handling/servicing support equipment; component removal/replacement; scheduled and unscheduled maintenance; Time Compliance Technical Directives (TCTD) execution.
(4) Experience in inspection of Aerospace Ground Equipment AGE/GSE; Hazardous Waste Management programs; Tool & FOD industry standards; equipment calibration procedures; general security procedures.
Desired Skills:
(1) 2-4 years 5th Generation (F-35, F-22) Fighter Aircraft experience in Modification, Maintenance and/or Quality Assurance roles.
(2) USAF 7-Level skill rating (or equivalent experience) or USN/USMC Level 3000 ASM rating.
(3) F-22/F-35 Avionics Background
(4)Familiar with DCMA Instruction 8210.1C associated in aircraft ground operations and maintenance procedures.
(5) Familiar with Air Force Instruction (AFI) 21-101 and/or OPNAV 4790 Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP) instructions.
(6) Experience with USAF Maintenance Standard Evaluation Program (MSEP) and associated data base.
(7) Familiar with International Standards Organization (ISO) 9001:2008 & AS9100C aviation standards.
(8) Experience with Quality Management System (QMS) internal audit processes.
(9) Ability to identify and understand non-conformities as they relate to Safety-of-Flight inspections, procedural breakdowns and/or program (process) audits.
(10) Experience with evaluating process compliance, write/review Corrective Action Preventative Action (CAPA) reports, perform root cause analysis and validate quality processes, responses and plans.
(11) Possess effective communication skills for coordinating with Aircraft Managers/Supervisors, Field Service Reps, System Engineers, Maintenance Logistics Support Managers, Customer (DCMA/GCQA), COR/QAE and maintainers regarding quality issues, Instrumentation System Integration, Deficiency Analysis/Reporting, customer complaints, and other issues related to higher quality as they occur.
(12) Ability to read/interpret engineering drawings/instructions; system schematics/blueprints; and technical policy/maintenance instructions.
(13) Capable of conducting teleconference and/or briefing (presentation) to management/customer.
(14) Excellent organizational, administration, and computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite 2010.)
(15) Contractor Field Team experience.
