PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. New Product Introductions (40%)

Line Trials

  • Co-ordinate supply of mass, components and change parts
  • Schedule line time and execute trial runs
  • Review results/data in-house and with New York
  • Establish fill weights ranges and communicate final filling specifications to Production

Establish Labour Costs

  • Well versed in Safety Awareness and committed to the continuous improvement of Safety and GMP

Routings

  • Assign each new product to a production line, ensure all routings are entered into the system in a timely manner and create assembly line instructions
  • Ensure accuracy of the Bill of Materials and those BOMs are setup according to the most cost efficient process with accurate fill weight ranges

Shipper Development/Transit Testing

  • Determine shipper size and quantity & develop custom shippers with corrugate supplier
  • Review Transit Tests results and troubleshoot failed tests

2. Existing Product Maintenance (50%)

Cost Savings

  • Review all labour standards during the Annual Fiscal Year roll-over, identify labour reduction opportunities and calculate cost savings
  • Prepare Cost Savings Justifications for new equipment and post audits
  • Lead/participate in Value Analysis teams to identify and implement labor and material savings

Process Improvements

  • Manage resources (people, process, materials and equipment) to improve productivity, efficiency and quality. Participate in continuous process improvement teams
  • Support the Line Utilization Tracking report
  • Audit operating standards: Conduct time studies to evaluate assembly tasks and optimize processes; Perform down time studies; observe/record production delays and make recommendations to prevent repetition
  • Work with assembly staff to ensure the most cost effective procedures and ergonomic methods are employed

Other Duties

  • Support annual goals/objectives
  • Career development via job/personal development training
  • Special projects as required

3. Health & Safety (10%)

  • Comply with all Estee Lauder Health and Safety guidelines and policies, including such items as: Personal protective equipment, WHMIS, GMP, ISO 14001, emergency response program and lock-out tag-out
  • Comply with accident reporting guidelines
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and orderly work environment

Qualifications

POSITION REQUIREMENTS /QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Technology

science related BA, BSc. or B.Eng.

Experience: Minimum of 12

months experience in a manufacturing environment

Competencies: P. Eng.

designation or demonstrative preparation for licensing is preferred, Computer

knowledge (Windows XP and Microsoft Office), Excellent written and verbal

communication skills, Excellent problem assessment and solving skills,

Excellent time management and organizational skills, Working within a team

environment both as team member and leader, Well versed in Safety Awareness and

committed to the continuous improvement of Safety and GMP
