Eaton’s Fluid Electrical Distribution division, a part of our Aerospace sector, is currently seeking a Product Design Engineer to join our team. This position is based at our Bethel, CT location.
Position Overview:The Product Design Engineer acquires and enhances specific product/technology knowledge relevant to the product line technology by cross training with technical personnel, hands on exposure and specific technical training.
The incumbent will develop new products incorporating existing and new technologies, and support their transition into the manufacturing/operations departments using a stage gate methodology. This will include requirements review, compliance assessment, mechanical design generation and validation through all phases of the program.
Responsibilities include both design engineering and project management tasks starting with design development, design reviews, design documentation generation, and support using DFSS and concurrent engineering methodology, creation and following of program schedules, customer and cross functions interface, qualification and transition into the production environment.
Additional responsibilities include various sustaining engineering assignments in failure analysis, MRB dispositions, reverse engineering, testing and cross-functional support by providing engineering expertise using technical knowledge, interpersonal communication skills, and engineering tools.
You will work on cost reduction initiatives and execution from new and existing products by developing innovative designs.
