Position:
We are seeking highly motivated quality engineers, reliability engineers, and data scientists to join theData Science team in Brooklyn, NY and Atlanta, GA.We are looking for people who can use the power of data analysis and machine learning to build tools and capabilities that improve reliability analyses andaccelerate root cause investigations in aerospace.
Reliability engineering isfocused on the dependability and availability of products operatingin a givenenvironment.It is impacted by the design stage understanding of what defines that operating environment, product quality, and other operational factors. Root cause analysis seeks to determine the primary issue that results in afield event such that the event can be avoided in the future by proactive operational or physical changes to the system. This team seeks to build next-generation data collection, analysis, and visualization techniques and tools thatempower engineers to conduct these analyses better and faster.
As a member of the team, you will work on the research, development, and implementation of complex machine learning systems toaccomplish these tasks.

Job Responsibilities include:

• Serve as a team subject matter expert in eitherrootcause analysis(RCA)or reliability engineering(RE)
• Co-develop models and algorithms that will improve how we design, manufacture, monitor, and maintain industrial assets such as jet enginesand otheraviation systemsalongside peers on the data science team
• Conduct exploratory data analysis

• Participate in early stage R&D work toadvance our capabilities in RCA and RE
• Collaborate with software development to implement and deploy newly developed technologies and algorithms
• Work with business units to implementproofs of concept of new technologies
• Present to and interact with executive and technical leadership to present results, operationalize machine learning systems, and foster adoption.
• Build scripts to automate, clean, transform, cross-reference and merge large sources of data utilizingalanguagesuch asPython

• Ability to work in a complex and ambiguous environment, and to lead the definition of new solutions to these complex problems.
• Results-oriented with a strong sense of ownership in delivering for our customer and businesses

Qualification:

• 3+ years related experiencewith M.S. or 5+ years with B.S.
• Work experience in RCA or RE

• Knowledge of machine learning, statistics, optimization or related field
• Experience with R, Python, Perl,orMatlab
• Experience with industrial applications of data science including prognostic and health management, supply chain optimization, advanced forecasting, and human capital management is a significant plus
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with the ability to well work in cross functional teams
• Experiencein data analytics or machine learning

• Motivated self-starter with a strong enthusiasm to learn
• Results-oriented with strong communication and customer focus
• Ability to deal well with ambiguous and undefined problems

Education:

• Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Aerospace, or Electrical Engineering
