Manulife Core Engineering and Transformation is seeking a self-motivated Mobile Software Engineer, who is obsessed with delivering value, is forward-thinking, and excited to see the successful implementation of the products they deliver. They will have native iOS and Android development experience as well as strong understanding of CI/CD and SDLC.

An ideal candidate would have:

  • Authority in developing, building, and releasing native mobile software
  • Good knowledge and hands-on experience with Swift, Kotlin, Java, Jenkins, XCTest, XCUI, Espresso, Junit, Mockito, Robolectric, Cucumber, Quick & Nimble, remote test farms
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and solutioning skills
  • A capacity for constant learning from both success and failure
  • Open to change and continuous improvement

Nice to Haves:

  • Exposure to PaaS and micro-service architectures
  • Exposure to and understanding of Agile scrum methodologies and experience of working in an Agile team
  • Experienced in grasping and explaining high level solution architecture
  • Exposure to and basic understanding of collaboration tools like Slack, Skype, JIRA

On the job you will:

  • Work closely with software engineers to establish best practices for development, testing and delivery
  • Work closely with other teams to drive innovative solutions to meet business needs
  • Collaborate closely Product Owners and other stakeholders in an Agile environment
  • Research and evaluate emerging technologies
  • Prototype to gain customer insights
  • Proof of Technology to innovate and incorporate new technology
  • Have opportunities to mentor co-op students
