REI is looking for a Service Desk Intern to contribute to REI’s success by working as part of an end user support team. Throughout the course of your internship experience, you will learn about REI technologies while empowering end users . Under the supervision of your Manager, and as a key member of the End User and Shared Services department, you will gain insights into the key functions of your team as it relates to REI’s broader strategy and vision.

Potential activities of the Service Desk Intern:

  • Provide technical support to end users through phone, email or in person
    • Learn about the various enterprise tools used at REI
    • Utilize your interpersonal and customer service skills to create positive experiences
  • Configure & Deploy new hardware and software
    • Learn how computers are configured and software installed
    • Delight an REI employee with new technology
  • Empower end users to easily access needed information
    • Document solutions and publish as knowledge articles and frequently asked questions regarding how to resolve common technical solutions
  • Collaborate with IT engineers
    • Shadow IT engineering departments to learn more about their work

  • Support end user technologies
  • Manage technical assets

  • Recommendation for changes, if applicable

Qualifications and expectations:

  • Currently majoring in Information Technologies / Computer Science
  • Coursework completed in some or all of the following areas: Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Word & Excel, Security, Networking, Computing, Cloud
  • Candidates should have a strong customer service skills and technical aptitude
