Job Description

As a Supplier Development Manager (SDM) at Micron, you will be responsible for the development, alignment, improvement and efficient execution of long range Global Procurement strategies which enable the TD team to meet future technology requirements. Being a member of the Global Procurement Capital Category team and participate in global supplier relationships supporting Global Category strategies.

As a successful SDM, you will lead the development and implementation of strategies related to Capital Equipment and Materials. These strategies will focus on technology development and can include supplier sourcing and selection, supply base management, market analysis, forecast projections, supply chain risk assessment, technology and quality expectations, total cost of ownership parameters, and information transfer to the Capital and Materials Category Teams.

In this global role, negotiating not-to-exceed total cost of ownership parameters which may include capital equipment or materials costs, operating costs models, materials consumption, and equipment productivity and performance requirements is also key.

In this role, you will partner with Capital and Materials Category Procurement Teams located in the US, and at other TD locations, Operations Central Team, and TD Management teams to enable meet our strategy and business plan requirements by optimizing cost structure, ensuring quality standards, and securing a reliable supply chain.

Role Responsibilities & Tasks

Supplier and Business Management

  • Partnering with the Engineering team, facilitate Executive level reviews with suppliers which address commercial and technical needs to enable technologies required for Micron’s roadmap and lead Global TD Supplier Relationships

Identify and Implement Supplier-Related Savings Levers

  • Support Micron Supplier Qualification Process, assess Supply Chain Risk and Business Continuity Assessment
  • Communicate Micron Supplier Quality Requirement Documentation and also publish Financial and Legal Risk Profile for new Suppliers
  • Sourcing in accordance with Micron Capital Category Strategies

Market Analysis

  • Identify potential new Suppliers and to also monitor Supply & Demand Dynamics
  • Disseminate Competitive Landscape information

Negotiations and Agreements

  • Lead Procurement Strategies for new Materials or Equipment (creation, partner input, communication, and execution)
  • Execute documentation (NDA, SOW, CDA, JDP) and evaluate Agreements) in support of TD development efforts
  • Negotiate Total Cost of Ownership projections and commitments and utilize current supplier performance information to secure improvements for future performance
  • Provide input in to Global Supplier Strategies and to coordinate with TD, WWOPs and Procurement team members

Procurement Transfer Package

  • Communicate Total Cost of Ownership projections and commitments and coordinate Forecast Projections for new Materials and Equipment
  • Partner with Engineering to establish Equipment and Materials Specifications
  • Ensure two-way interaction with HVM GCM and OCT team members

Budget Management

  • Partner with Technology Development team here in teh Singapore offoce to set and handle budgets
  • Align with TD Procurement Partners located at our headquarters and other TD locations to develop strategies to successfully achieve budget
  • Track Supplier performance to budget and key investment in Technology Programs

Communication Liaison

  • Demonstrable ability to effective communicate between Procurement teams located in Singapore, Micron’s headquarters and other TD locations is occurring.
  • Maintain and publish updates key TD programs and initiatives

Education Bachelor’s Degree or Masters or equivalent experience

  • Business

  • Related field of study

Qualifications

  • 8 years’ experience in any of the following:
  • Purchasing/Procurement
  • Engineering
  • Supply Chain
