Carta is hiring a Revenue Accountant to join the finance team. As a key member of the finance team, this position will work closely with the Revenue Manager in Carta’s revenue process. In this role, you’ll be part of a highly dynamic team supporting the growth of Carta and the creation of new processes. We need an experienced team member to help us with the recording and reconciliation of revenue and the analyzing of contracts for revenue recognition purposes. This role will have the opportunity to work closely with the Sales, Accounting, Billing and AR organizations.

Responsibilities

• Analyze new customer contracts for revenue recognition impact and document considerations
• Create and manage revenue recognition schedules for all Carta contracts via Netsuite uploads
• Perform month-end reconciliations of revenue accounts
• Analyze fluctuations in revenue and variances from budget
• Assist the AR team in mass billing and payment application processes
• Work with the revenue manager to record any manual adjustments required to ensure compliance with ASC 606
• Assist in system implementation and integration efforts to increase automation of key processes
• Interact with and provide support to auditors as part of the annual audit
• Develop and maintain internal control processes around revenue
• Work closely with sales organization to ensure contracts conform with company policy
• Respond to customer and internal inquiries in a timely manner and with a helpful and productive response
• Assist with sales tax reconciliations for customers in states where sales tax is assessed
• Assist with other accounting, AR, and billing tasks ask necessary

Qualifications

• 2-3 years experience of revenue, accounts receivable, accounting or related field required
• Bachelors or Associate’s degree in accounting
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and revenue recognition under ASC 606
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Self-motivated with ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Strong system experience and mindset, as well as advanced Excel skills a must
• NetSuite experience a plus
• Experience performing internal controls for revenue
• SaaS industry experience preferred but not required
