Job Purpose

In order to take our position as leaders of a clean energy future, we set aggressive efficiency and carbon-reduction targets across the business. To reach those targets, we’re adopting new technologies on the grid and in the office and aligning our people to one vision of what it means to drive change in the utility industry. We are asking people to change the way they work and the way they think and that’s where you come in.

As the Principal Change Management Practitioner, Buisiness Change Program Management, you will play a pivotal role for the organization. You are an internal change practitioner, suject matter expert, coach, ambassador and role model for the team and you will help us build a movement to transform our US business. Your focus will be to support the business through change, build buy-in and commitment to that change, while developing an enduring longer-term capability.

Key Accountabilities
  • Support and enable the implementation of change initiatives for the National Grid US Business, owning the design and implementation of action-oriented interventions to help lead individuals, teams and the organization as a whole through their change journeys as we continue on our evolution:
  • Work with stakeholders across the organization to help them adapt to new changes and embrace transformational goals
  • Provide coaching to leaders at various levels of the organization as they lead others through change
  • Identify the change impacts to individuals and groups and create change plans that will help those people embrace the change
  • Design and deliver interventions to help stakeholders respond and adapt to change impacts
  • Partner with internal and external experts to design, develop and implement targeted communications campaigns around central themes related to our transformation
  • Use a structured, data-driven approach to measure and report on effectiveness of change interventions and approaches and adapt as necessary
  • Build and maintain a strong external network to ensure ongoing benchmarking and the ability to bring innovative and progressive ideas
  • Identify, analyze and prepare risk mitigation tactics
  • Identify training needs, create and implement training plans
Supervisory/Interpersonal- Experience Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree, MBA a plus
  • Up to 10 years of change management experience, preferably in implementing large scale change in a customer-focused organization.
  • Significant hands-on (7+years) business delivery experience
  • Hands on experience with change management methodologies
  • Background in Organizational Development, Organizational Behavior or I/O Psychology preferred
  • Excellent facilitation skills in virtual and live environments
  • Able to translate strategy, challenges, and emerging priorities into action
  • Credibility and gravitas – able to facilitate groups of leaders more senior than themselves.
  • Flexible and adaptable – able to build rapport easily and flex their style to suit different audiences
  • Emotionally intelligent and self-aware – able to read the room and respond to reactions in others
  • Action oriented – able to demonstrate a bias for action in all endeavors
  • Ability to successfully prioritize and handle multiple tasks
  • Strong decision making and time management skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
