Job description

Rakuten Rewards is looking for a detail-oriented individual with a minimum of 4 years Accounting experience with an emphasis on Accounts Receivable, including B2B credit. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing various accounting schedules in a timely manner and supporting the accounts receivable and credit functions. The candidate must have knowledge of general accounting principles, financial statements and be proficient with Excel. Previous Experience with Oracle is a plus.
The candidate should display a positive and proactive attitude, strong organizational skills, the ability to prioritize and multitask and be a strong communicator, both paper and over the phone, as he or she will frequently deal with higher levels of management.

Job Requirements:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Preparation and reconciliation of a complex billing process
  • Preparation and reconciliation of monthly COGS amounts
  • Conduct account research and analysis, including monitoring customer account details for non-payments, delayed payments and other irregularities
  • Assist in month-end close process
  • Analyze financial statements and present key financial data for review
  • Use available resources to proactively identify at-risk clients
  • Work with Director of AR to make credit recommendations
  • Provide thorough, efficient and accurate account updates
  • Identify and execute the necessary process adjustments
  • Identify and recommend efficiency improvements
  • Interact with customers to resolve outstanding issues

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Knowledge of GAAP
  • Knowledge of accounts receivable, including credit and collections
  • Ability to read and interpret financial statements
  • Ability to effectively communicate, especially through email
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
  • Proficient in relevant computer applications
  • Negotiation and conflict management skills

Beneficial Skills and Experience

  • Internet industry experience a plus, especially dealing with affiliate relationships
  • Experience with D&B, Credit Risk Monitor or other credit industry tools
  • Previous month-end close and journal entry preparation experience
  • Knowledge of Oracle

Education/Training

  • BS in Accounting or comparable
