Job Description

We believe work is not a place, but rather a thing you do. Our technology revolves around this core philosophy. We are relentlessly committed to helping people work and play from anywhere, on any device. Innovation, creativity and a passion for ever-improving performance drive our company and our people forward. We empower the original mobile device: YOU!

What we're looking for:

The Release Validation team is hiring, and we're looking for people to help us continue to validate quality in Citrix products and services on-premises and in Citrix Cloud.

It's an exciting time for the team - we've been given an expanded charter, and will be responsible for operating a Citrix Workspace “dogfooding” environment that over 3,000 internal Citrites use for their daily work.

Position Overview:

You'll be operating right on the cutting edge of the latest Citrix Cloud services and product releases, as Citrix builds and shapes our vision of the Future of Work. You'll be working with Product Management and Engineering teams to help ensure that Citrix delivers services that are reliable, and a pleasure to use, for the over 400,000 organizations and more than 100 million people who use Citrix products to get their work done.

Who are we and what do we do?

The Release Validation team (part of Unified Cloud Engineering) plays a key role in Citrix's efforts to release quality software and solutions. The team is responsible for delivering multiple pre-release Citrix Workspace environments and associated services to over 3,000 internal colleagues to use in their daily work. We’re a small, startup-like agile team that’s well known internally for getting things done and having a major impact on Citrix release quality.

Roles and Responsibilities :

Aspects of the role include, but are not limited to:

• Designing, operating and maintaining on-premises and Cloud-based IT infrastructure to support the pre-release environments.

• Scripting and automation of common tasks and processes, and reduction of toil.

• Identifying and delivering continuous improvements to how our team does things.

• Developing self-help tooling to help colleagues report and resolve problems themselves.

• Managing and Administering Citrix products and services in customer-like environments.

• Providing internal end-user support, problem triage, and raising bugs for issues encountered by colleagues using the pre-release environment.

• Liaising and working with the global teams that develop and operate Citrix products and services.

• Researching existing and in-development features or products, creating reports and implementation plans for deploying those features and products into our customer-like environments.

• Providing feedback to Engineering and Product Management teams on what it's like to use Citrix products and services; working with those teams to deliver on making things better.

• Advocating for User and Citrix administrator experience, and the importance of using our own products, across the company.

• Sharing knowledge and experience gained, both externally and internally.

• Reporting to the business on environment usage, and our impact on software quality and experience.

Technologies and skills

It would be useful if you had some experience with or knowledge of these technologies and concepts, but they're not required:

• Windows and/or Linux-based operating systems

• Citrix Cloud and Citrix on-premises products and services

• Cloud services, including Azure

• Databases, DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, TCP/IP networking, DFS, Hypervisors

• Collaboration and issue management tools (such as Atlassian Confluence and Jira)

• Automation and configuration tooling including the use of things like APIs, PowerShell, Terraform, Jenkins, Ansible, Puppet, etc

• Software Engineer

• DevOps Engineer

What you’re looking for:

Our technology is built on the idea that everyone should be able to work from anywhere, at any time, and on any device. It’s a simple philosophy that guides everything we do — including how we work. If you’re an engineer, we’ll give you plenty of ways to test your skills on cutting edge technology. We want employees to do what they do best, every day.
