    Responsibilities

    The C.N.A. assists licensed nurses (or their designees) by performing tasks involving patient care, treatment, and maintenance of the nursing unit.

    Qualifications

    Education Background

    • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
    • Satisfactory completion of an approved C.N.A training program and certification.

    Licensure, Registration, Certification

    • Certified as a C.N.A in the State of Washington.

    Work Experience

    • 1 year patient care experience preferred.

    Special Training/Skills

    • Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on assigned unit/department.
    • Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with staff, physicians, patients and families.
    • Able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on assigned unit/department.

    Physical Abilities

    • Must be able to handle a fluctuating workload.
    • Able to safely maneuver patients and supplies.
    • This job requires ability to communicate clearly in English (verbal and written) with all stakeholders (providers, caregivers, patients, family members) for the effective treatment of patients.

    Physical Demand Level: Heavy

    In an 8-hour workday, must be able to-

    Lift / Carry

    50 to 100 pounds occasionally

    25 to 50 pounds frequently

    10 to 20 pounds constantly

    As required, must be able to -

    Sit, Stand, Walk, Bend, Squat, Kneel, Crawl, Climb and Reach above shoulders

    Push and Pull

    Perform fine motor functions

    Must possess functional vision, hearing, and speech in order to communicate effectively with clients, client advocates, and staff.
