Working Student or Intern (m/f/d) Network Simulation (Ref.No. R0077694)

in the Security division at our headquarters in Ditzingen near Stuttgart

In the framework of international research initiatives, Thales is developing network simulations in cooperation with German and international partners. For these projects, we are looking for a committed student (m/f/d) who is eager to gain insights into current developments in the fields of military radio communication and network technology.

Key responsibilities:

You will be involved in programming radio-based network simulations in C++ for a research project within our Secure Communications & Information Systems business unit.

Examples of tasks that our team will entrust you with will include:

• Definition and simulation of various scenarios, followed by a comparative analysis
• Definition of requirements and features in coordination with the Research & Development (R&D) supervisor and, where necessary, with external partners
• Implementation of the above-mentioned technical and functional requirements

Key qualifications:

• Enrollment in a Computer Science, Communication Technology, Communications Engineering curriculum or similar
• Programming skills in C++ and familiarity with the OMNeT++ network simulator
• Basic knowledge of Linux (Ubuntu)
• Good understanding of communication protocols (especially IP, TCP/UDP)
• Fluency in English is required
• High level of independence and self-initiative
• You are a teamplayer and enjoy working with international project partners

It would be a real plus if you had experience in:

• Version management with Git
• Eclipse IDE
