Huntsville Operations First Line Manager/IPT Lead

The Huntsville Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Site Manufacturing team is seeking a motivated candidate for a unique development opportunity. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to serve in a dual role as both a manufacturing manager (expected team size of 10 to 20 technicians) as well as an IPT lead that will provide support to a key Boeing development program. This role will require someone agile enough to respond to the dynamic nature of a program that is transitioning from engineering development / prototype phase to low rate production.

Position Responsibilities:

• Builds an effective team consisting of a mix of existing Huntsville-based technicians and new employees.
• Manages, develops and motivates multi-functional/disciplined team to support Program assigned.
• Understands the dynamics of effective teamwork in order to attain higher levels of performance. Demonstrates ability to work as a member of a team and the customer.
• Maintains effectiveness when experiencing major changes in work tasks or the work environment; adjusts effectively to work within new work structures, processes, requirements, and/or cultures.

• Maintains customer relationships and foster clear lines of communication between the program office in Huntington Beach and our Huntsville Manufacturing teams.

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. (Ability to obtain interim and/or final clearance Post-Start.)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• Experience in a role requiring strategic planning (project/program management).
• More than 5 years of experience in a manufacturing or production engineering role.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Bachelor’s degree or higher.
• More than 10 years of management experience working in a production engineering role or manufacturing environment.
• More than 5 years of experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems common image (MESci).
• More than 5 years of experience in development programs (integration, test phases), production support, or sustainment engineering.
• More than 1 year of experience employing Earned Value Management techniques either as a project manager, control account manager, or control account manager assistant.

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+8 years' related work experience, 14 years' related work experience, etc.)
