Job Description:

As a Software Engineer, you’ll be a contributing team member for building tools developers and operations teams use on a daily basis. CI/CD, Automation, configuration management, critical monitoring and management systems as well as help develop new platforms and software for these teams to be more efficient. You’ll work closely with development, software architects and SREs. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to develop, build and evangelize tools to better create efficiencies within the organization.

What you’ll do at WebMD:

• Authoring code to improve features on WebMD’s core infrastructure automation and provisioning systems, config management, tools and monitoring
• Evangelize the tools and processes originated from the team to other departments
• Mentor team members across the organization
• Continuously identify areas of improvement and champion the efforts to implement change
• Have fun working with a highly technical team

About you (Minimum Qualifications):

• 3+ years professional experience developing in Ruby, Python, Go or Java
• BS in Computer Science, Engineering or Math; or additional 4 years’ experience as described above.
• Fundamental concepts with CI/CD Pipeline solutions and Configuration management such as Chef, Ansible, Puppet or Terraform
• Any relevant experience supporting production web or distributed applications
• Fundamental understanding SDLC, Software Architecture, data structures
• Able to communicate high-level as well as detailed technical concepts and implementations with peers and colleagues
• Calm under pressure
• Strong written and verbal language skills
