What we're looking for:

You are a curious, driven, and passionate Sr Accountant who is looking to be part of our Revenue team where you will focus on supporting the finance relationship with regional sales teams by supporting nonstandard deal structuring (including approval of nonstandard pricing and contract terms); and analyzing their impact on SSP, VSOE, Relative Selling Price, and operations. Additionally, you have 2-3 years of current or previous Big 4 or National Tier public accounting firm audit experience.

You have a detailed understanding of accounting guidelines for software revenue recognition. You also have the ability to manage multiple priorities/deadlines and work effectively with team members that are internal and external to department.

Position summary:

As a Sr. Accountant you will work as part of the Worldwide Revenue Operations team focusing on financial Americas operation reporting and analysis of monthly sales activity. Additionally, the position will be directly involved in all aspects of revenue accounting, including management of deferred revenue, multi-element revenue arrangements and SSP and VSOE calculations along with involvement in sales discounting programs. This position will report to the Senior Manager or Director in the Global Revenue Operations organization.

Primary Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Performing technical accounting research on revenue recognition related topics.
  • Contract review, analysis, and summary.
  • Preparing quarterly detailed analysis of revenue transactions, to ensure compliance with software revenue recognition criteria.
  • Interfacing with internal and external audit on revenue related issues.
  • Quarterly audit support
    • Order Review
    • Large Deal package preparation
  • Prepare and maintain analysis of monthly multi-element revenue sales for review by the Senior Manager. Including forecasts and related accrual and recognition trends. Analyze and track all elements of the arrangements.
  • Manage preparation and analysis of procedure documentation for functions included in Americas Revenue Operations group, specifically as related to the ongoing Sarbanes Oxley initiatives, and related SOX control activity. Includes quarterly review of existing SSP/VSOE levels and ongoing application of accounting rules and standards.
  • Review of reconciliations and journal entry support prepared by Staff Accountants.
  • Renewal Analyses
  • Ad hoc projects and UAT testing
  • Working knowledge of SAP, Microsoft Office, RevPro and Salesforce.com is preferred

Requirements (Education, Certification, Training, and Experience):

  • CPA or Master’s Degree (Finance or Accounting) required
  • Detailed working knowledge of GAAP required
