As a Group Retirement Account Executive, working in our Kitchener / Waterloo Regional Office, your objective will be to expand regional sales in Southwestern Ontario and grow a profitable Group Retirement block of business. We are looking for a dynamic self-starter who is energized by the thought of earning rewards based on your own high performance.

Job Summary:

This role focuses on pro-active sales and relationship building activity by meeting with plan advisors to understand and develop solutions to meet their clients business needs. You will be responsible for developing existing advisor relationships while also pursuing opportunities with advisors who do not have an established business relationship with Manulife.

Manulife Financial Account Executives are rewarded with a competitive compensation model which includes base salary plus variable compensation, share ownership, pension, and flex benefits.

You will be accountable for:

  • Building and strengthening existing advisor relationships within a defined territory
  • Developing new advisors that are looking to expand their practices into the Group Retirement marketplace
  • Providing sales strategies, concepts, marketing ideas and support to advisors
  • Promoting Manulife's group retirement products and service capabilities as well as act as a resource for product and service consultation
  • Achieving the Group Office sales objectives and most importantly retain/grow a profitable block of business

Qualifications:

  • College / University degree or equivalent industry experience
  • Strong relationship building and interpersonal skills together with strong active listening skills; an entrepreneurial approach is necessary for this role
  • Strong team building skills
  • Ability to negotiate and influence effectively throughout the organization
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Creative problem solving skills
  • Proven ability to take initiative, be a strong self-manager and display professionalism
  • Willingness to develop as an expert in Group Retirement strategies
  • CEBS, Retirement Plans Associate (RPA) designation or ability to attain within 3 years
  • PC skills on internet, email and Microsoft Office: Excel, Word and PowerPoint
