Job Summary:
We are seeking an extremely motivated Java Services Developer as part of an Architecture team, a high growth area within Raymond James Financials. In addition to technical knowledge and tools, candidate must be a self-starter with the ability and desire to operate independently with minimal management supervision. As part of a development technology team, analyzes business requirements and problems and drives research to design quality technical solutions. This individual will be involved in portions of the full systems life cycle (based on experience/skills) and is responsible for designing, coding, testing, implementing, maintaining and supporting application software that is delivered on time and within budget.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Analyzes system requirements, including identifying program interactions and appropriate interfaces between impacted components and sub systems.
• Makes recommendations towards the development of new code or to reuse of existing code.
• May recommend new technologies and methodologies to management for meeting business needs, resolving problems and exploiting opportunities. Remains current with new technologies.
• Obtains and evaluates information on factors such as reporting formats required, costs, and security needs to determine hardware configuration.
• Participates actively in the complete software development lifecycle, including performance analysis, design, development, and testing.
• Ensures solid, minimal-defect code by performing unit testing with JUnit test cases and through rigorous integration testing of the entire application.
• Ensures that high quality work is consistently sought without exception and errors contained during the development, testing and implementation processes.
• Participates in software system testing and validation procedures, programming and documentation.
• Provides technical advice and assists in solving programming problems.
• Assists in preparing project plans using project management tools.
• Ensures proper analysis of problems and programming approaches to prevent rework and schedule slippage.
• Shares best practices within and across development team members.
• Engages in application performance tuning.
• Deliver complete front end components including HTML, CSS and Angular components and directives.
• Develops domain model and persistence layer such as with JPA/Hibernate.
• Cooperating with the back-end developer in the process of completing features using RESTful API technologies.
• Writing tested, idiomatic, and documented AngularJS services, components and controllers.
• Work on bug resolution and application improvements, such as performance and maintainability.
• Participate actively in discussions, presentations and decisions about front-end development and application design.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.


Qualifications


Experience and Skills:
• Minimum of a B.S. in Computer Science, MIS or related degree and five (5) years of related experience or a combination of education, training and experience.
• At least (5) years of experience in Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Maintenance of applications using Java/J2EE, Web services, Spring Framework, SpringBoot, EAI, JPA/Hibernate, Oracle, MongoDB, Distributed cache (Apache Ignite preferred), JBoss, Jenkins, GIT, Splunk, Dynatrace, Enterprise Integration and design patterns.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in designing and building high performance applications in JAVA SOA and ESB platform.
• Minimum two (2) years of experience in Groovy.
• Minimum two (2) years of experience in SQL (T-SQL/PL-SQL).
• Minimum two (2) years of experience work with PaaS/SaaS.
• Experience modelling and designing applications (both application, data and software blueprints).
• Experience with distributed architectures, strong OO background, SOA, web services and messaging paradigms.
• Solid understanding of SDLC with experience in Waterfall/Agile SDM.
• Efficient team member with excellent work/time management skills, communications and Interpersonal Skills, ability to work under strict deadlines and deliver.
• Strong team member and an individual contributor, ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Experience as Java developer in Financial Services industry (preferred, not required).

Licenses/Certifications:
• Prefer Java 8 Certification.
