About the Role

Our mapping team is growing and we are looking for a Software Operations Specialist to help produce the detailed maps that our self-driving delivery robots use to navigate the world. We’re searching for a specialist with experience working with maps and 3D spatial data, has a good eye for detail, a high standard for quality, and a strong desire to contribute to the future of robotics and transportation.

About the Work

• Perform digitization and QA tasks working through complex driving scenarios as you build and improve the maps our self-driving robots use to navigate the streets
• Perform analysis and evaluation to discover ways to improve our internal tools and processes and to build maps more accurately and efficiently
• Communicate and collaborate with other team members and our software engineers

About You

• 1+ year of experience in any of the following areas is required: GIS digitization/analysis, 3D modeling, image editing, graphic/digital design
• Familiarity with Python scripting, database queries and/or Unix environments
• Comfortable using and navigating visual/spatial software in 2D and 3D
• Strong attention to detail over extended periods of time
• Friendly, positive attitude, exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
• Flexibility and willingness to help other software projects as needed
• Able to effectively manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
• Excitement about teaching robots and helping progress tools that will support the development of AI and robotics endeavors
• Bachelor's degree in geography, geology, environmental science, computer science, engineering or related field
