The Data Process & Improvement department at National Grid is seeking an Analyst in our Syracuse, NY location.

Support needs related to gathering, maintaining and governing asset data across the business. Add value by analyzing system and process challenges and delivering solutions.

Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):

• Provide subject matter expertise and support for electric distribution asset information - including reporting, data updates, analysis, development and testing responsibilities (as appropriate)
• Utilize existing GIS and asset database tools to deploy solutions to meet business challenges
• Monitor, investigate, remediate and communicate data quality issues
• Collaborate with multiple stakeholders to identify business process and system changes and enhancements
• Embed best practice while promoting security, consistency, availability, standardization and accuracy of information

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Sciences - Technology or equivalent OR in lieu of a degree, equivalent work experience
• Experience working with utility asset information – particularly electric distribution
• Proven experience working with diverse teams to gather user requirements and translate those into an action plans
• Demonstrated understanding of geospatial data and systems
• Demonstrated understanding of process, workflow and data analysis
• Exceptional and demonstrated customer service and communication skills (verbal and written)
• Exceptional and demonstrated analytical skills, problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
• Highly motivated with ability to take an assignment and progress independently
• Ability to travel throughout the National Grid service territory as needed (20%)
• Must have a valid driver's license and safe driving history

Preferred Experience:

• Experience working with utility GIS models and systems – Smallworld GIS and/or ESRI
• Experience working with systems including work and document management
• Process/system analysis, development, testing and ability to produce related documentation
