The Assortment Item Management Product Manager is an exciting opportunity to be a part of our growing Assortment business! We are looking for a Product Manager to join this emerging business unit in order to develop the vision for our Assortment product and build a roadmap to accomplish that vision. You will be working with customers to understand how SPS Commerce can best meet their needs through executing different pilots to inform the broader go to market messaging. Success is measured by impact to a product’s revenue growth, profitability, and customer retention; and the ability to align with key stakeholders on the strategy, roadmap, and intended business impact of the roadmap.

The day-to-day life:

  • Leading and energizing an internal stakeholder team to define the 1-2 year strategy and roadmap with expected business impact of proposed opportunities.
  • Driving alignment to the strategy and roadmap across the product, customer success, sales, finance and technology teams.
  • Developing and continuously refining your understanding of the needs of current customers, future customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Developing a strong understanding of enterprise-wide impact, barriers, and needs to meet the intended strategy.
  • Flexing to the needs of the role as it evolves and becomes established in the organization.
  • Accountability to revenue growth, retention and profitability performance for your product portfolio.
  • Partnering with internal stakeholders to make sure the people, process, and technology are ready to help the product and business scale with accelerated growth
  • Defining epic-level requirements and ensuring the product owner has a strong understanding of market needs to enable the development teams to successfully execute.
  • Partnering with development leaders to provide the necessary level of scoping to ensure they can align resources to the strategic priorities.

What experience and skills do I need?

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 6+ years of professional experience
  • Ability to influence and communicate across the organization at the Director and VP level
  • Comfortable leading through ambiguity to create a clear and actionable strategy
  • Strong relationship-building skills and interpersonal savvy
  • Ability to move between strategic and tactical work in a dynamic environment
  • Experience in an Agile or Scrum development environment
  • 2+ years experience in a Product Manager or Technical Product Manager role
  • Experience in running product pilots or executing go to market strategies
  • Preferred, not required experience with pricing strategy and/or pricing execution
  • Preferred, not required experience or training in Six Sigma and/or Lean methodologies
  • Preferred, not required demonstrated success leading and influencing cross-functional teams
