Job Description

Rackspace is looking to hire an Oracle Strategic Specialist Architect, who has solid experience at delivering complex Oracle solutions for Enterprise customers. The Specialist Architect will be supporting a Sales Team and act as a consultant in helping to define the best solution for the customer and supporting the steps to get to the target state. As part of this role there will be a requirement to educate and support the existing Rackers in Sales & Solution Architecture as you evolve their technical understanding of the Oracle offering. As you grow into the role, you will be tasked with defining GTM strategies and support marketing with the target of you being an external Evangelist.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Key Accountabilities

  • Gathers customer requirements (multiple workloads)
  • Act as a lead consultant in the technical track around Oracle & Databases
  • Provide key technical consulting support in the pre-sales and solution design phases of client engagements
  • Translates technical and business requirements into Rackspace supportable technical solutions
  • Maintain knowledge of current technologies deployed by Oracle
  • Primary technical contact on specific opportunities with high complexity
  • Understands and follows established and embedding Rackspace processes
  • Uses judgement to go outside standard processes to drive opportunities to conclusion
  • Support the enablement of Sellers and Solution Architects around the Oracle offering
  • Provides a first and secondary level of technical response to RFP/RFIs
  • Uses standard tools (Salesforce, Proposal Tools, Technology Sizing Tools)
  • Works with Support and Product teams to translate customer requirements in to requirements for future roadmap items

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

KNOWLEDGE/ SKILLS/ ABILITIES:

  • Excellent insight and practical knowledge of the Oracle Suite – to name a few:
  • Oracle Database
  • Oracle Fusion
  • Oracle E-Business Suite
  • PeopleSoft
  • Weblogic
  • Provide industry guidance, strategies, and Oracle best practices
  • Solid knowledge of the Oracle Cloud IAAS
  • Excellent attention to detail, communication skills (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
  • Plans, schedules and monitors own work (and that of others where applicable) competently within limited deadlines and according to relevant procedures
  • Deep and focused knowledge on products and services within their specialty domain including expertise that extends beyond the Rackspace portfolio
  • Excellent problem solving, analytical, presentation, and whiteboarding skills
  • Track record of success working through technical challenges requiring specialty knowledge
  • Track record of success dealing with ambiguity (internal and external) and working collaboratively with other departments and organizations to solve challenging problems

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in pre-sales or technical leadership
  • Specialty domain experience on Oracle
  • Advanced technical training across multiple technologies (Cloud, Security, DevOps, etc)
  • Industry certifications or expertise desired – to name a few: Oracle Certified Professional, Java, PeopleSoft, AWS RDS, MongoDB, Linux Background, CCNA,
