Job Description

Raytheon Missile Systems is seeking a Quality Support Engineer – Precision metal fabrication/ inspection
As a Quality Support Engineer, the ideal candidate will support activities for a variety of components and tasks in a metal part fabrication production environment
Core competencies must include the ability to interpret engineering requirements, understand and operate Coordinate Measurement Machines (CMM), standard machining inspection methods and tools to validate and verify production parts in support of the manufacturing process development and prove-in efforts. The awarded candidate must also have a working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
This position requires someone who can be flexible with their schedule and may require support across adjoining production shifts.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Follow and support established guidelines regarding factory safety and operational procedures
• Ability to work long hours standing and working in a factory environment
• Share CMM knowledge with Engineers on preferred methods to design and layout processes
• Ability to identify Coordinate Measurement Machine(CMM) errors and communicate alternative options with stakeholders
• Utilize CMM software, preferably (Zeiss Calypso & DMIS)
• Knowledgeable on GD&T
• Demonstrated ability to read, interpret and understand technical drawings
• Knowledgeable of Machine Shop practices
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Certified Quality Inspector
• Ability to obtain and/or maintain a DoD Secret clearance

Required Skills:

• 8 years of experience performing a wide variety of tasks in a manufacturing/production environment
• Demonstrated knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Demonstrated ability to read, interpret and understand technical drawings
• Certified Quality Inspector
• Ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance

Desired Skills:

• Experience using CMM machine to verify and validate metal fabricated parts in a production environment
• Experience using discus for first article inspections
• Active DoD Secret clearance
• Enrolled in an accredited university, pursuing a STEM degree.
• Basic knowledge of Statistical Process Controls and Capability analysis

Required Education (including Major):
High School Diploma or GED.
