    The UW Medicine Heart Institute provides acclaimed services in cardiac care. Our areas of specialty include:

    • Heart transplants
    • Interventional cardiology
    • Cardiac surgery
    • Electrophysiology
    • Congenital heart disease
    • Structural heart disease
    • Cardiovascular genetics

    Responsibilities

    The Physician Practice Manager II (also called the "Clinic Manager") will have oversight of multiple cardiac clinics within the UW Medicine Heart Institute Service Line. This individual will oversee clinics in Mill Creek, Ballard, Northgate, and Edmonds, with management responsibility for 40-50 staff, and a working partnership with 20-25 practitioners.

    The Clinic Manager, under minimal direction of the Director, is responsible for managing all functions of the assigned clinics, including organization and planning of the services provided by the clinic. The Manager coordinates the smooth operation of the day-to-day activities, provides leadership, makes decisions, sets goals, and assures that quality, performance and production standards are maintained.

    Qualifications

    Education Background

    • Bachelor's degree in related field (nursing, health care administration, business, etc.) preferred.
    • Or the equivalent combination of college courses plus extensive relevant experience which, in the Director’s opinion, is the equivalent of a bachelor's degree.

    Licensure, Registration, Certification

    • Maintains a valid Washington Driver’s License and a clean driving record.

    Work Experience

    • Requires at least 3 years of experience in a physician practice, in a management or supervisory capacity. 5 years strongly preferred.
    • EpicCare experience strongly preferred.

    Special Training/Skills

    • Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel.
    • Must have working knowledge of third party reimbursement systems.

    Physical Abilities

    • Position requires significant computer usage - must be able to sit for extended periods of time, use keyboard and monitor.

    Physical Demand Level: Light

    In an 8-hour workday, must be able to-

    Lift / Carry 20 pounds occasionally and 10 pounds frequently

    As required, must be able to -

    Sit, Stand, Walk, Bend, Squat, Kneel, Crawl, Climb and Reach above shoulders

    Push and Pull

    Perform fine motor functions

    Must possess functional vision, hearing, and speech in order to communicate effectively with clients, client advocates, and staff.
