About The Team

The Analytics Product Development Team are responsible for developing the next generation of revenue generating products for the Analytics Centre of Expertise. The team has been newly established as a result of the strategic requirement to productise the offering of Analytics. You will be joining a team of 2, and will work on market sizing, prototyping and gaining feedback on ideas with the goal of creating commercially successful products.

What Your Role Will Be:

  • This role offers an excellent entry to both the technical and proposition aspects of product development.
  • This will involve both discovery of new product areas to explore and development of prototypes to develop means to effectively serve these areas.
  • You will be joining a newly established team, working with experienced colleagues .
  • You will develop your skills in the necessary analytical techniques (including m achine learning) and programming languages to set you up to build technically excellent and commercially successful products in the future.

You will have a willingness to question, experiment, and learn in a collaborative environment whilst establishing a career within Analytics. You’ll be excited about working as part of an innovative team who use cutting edge tools and programming skills to create brand new products.

Some experience of/exposure to the below will also help you to be more successful in the role, although we’ll be able to provide you with training to pick up these skills:

  • An understanding of the real problems faced by businesses in understanding their customers
  • Excellent numerical skills, including in depth knowledge of the theory of statistical inference / m achine learning techniques, of the kind likely to be covered in a degree with significant statistical content.
  • Foundation knowledge of a common data processing, modelling and database languages (e.g. SAS, R, Python, SQL)
  • Knowledge of a statically typed language (e.g. Scala, Java, C#) and / or web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) an advantage
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to explain complex methodologies and results in a way that allows non-technical stakeholders to make decisions
