Description: Work as a Clinical Pharmacist in member care. Maintains knowledge of and assures departmental compliance with Kaiser Permanente's Principles of Responsibility and policies and procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements and accreditation standards.
Essential Responsibilities: This position, knows and complies with all Kaiser Permanente quality, safety, and emergency policies and procedures. Demonstrates quality and effectiveness in work habits and clinical practice in every interaction with patients, colleagues, providers, and leadership. Ensures patient safety in the preparation and provisioning of care related to but not limited to medications, procedures, infection prevention, fall prevention, including consistent use of two patient identifiers and procedural time outs. Reports safety hazards, accidents and incidents, and unsafe working conditions promptly. Compliance and Regulatory Agencies. Responsible for the daily operations of the pharmacy without personnel responsibilities. Responsible for directing work flow and employees to meet department metrics and service standards. Pharmacist in charge for the pharmacy outlet with name on the pharmacy license and responsibility for corresponding regulatory and compliance responsibilities. Examples include but are not limited to:
Direct and adhere to Colorado State Board of Pharmacy requirements, as assigned to the 'Pharmacy Manager' per the Colorado State Board of Pharmacy, and acts as the pharmacist on the license of the prescription drug outlet. Weekly and monthly compliance audits for DEA, State Board of Pharmacy. KP Pharmacy Policy adherence. Work with Regulatory agencies to include but not limited to, DEA, SBOP, CMS, FDA and Compliance audits and remediation. Resolve compliance and regulatory discrepancies. Pharmacy workflow management:
Direct and schedule employees in daily workflow to meet service metrics, Guide all team members in their role and provide feedback to team members and leadership. Address member concerns in addition to supporting team members to triage member complaints and gaps in service. Support and facilitate other leaders and health care providers in the medical office building and Regional Pharmacy leaders Other duties as assigned. Basic Qualifications: Experience
Minimum one (1) year of experience directing workflow in a professional environment. Minimum one (1) year of experience directing pharmacy regulatory/compliance activities to include: Experience working with Regulatory agencies to include but not limited to DEA, SBOP, CMS, FDA; Experience with Compliance audits and remediation; Experience resolving compliance/regulatory discrepancies Education
BS in pharmacy or Pharm D License, Certification, Registration
Licensed Pharmacist in the State of Colorado. Primary Location: Colorado,Colorado Springs,Parkside Colorado Springs Medical Offices
