About edTPA:
edTPA is a pre-service assessment process designed by educators to answer the essential question: "Is a new teacher ready for the job?” edTPA includes a review of a teacher candidate's authentic teaching materials as the culmination of a teaching and learning process that documents and demonstrates each candidate's ability to effectively teach his/her subject matter to all students. For more information about edTPA, visit edtpa.com at http://www.edtpa.com/ and aacte.org at http://aacte.org/
edTPA scoring is done remotely on a temporary/part-time basis in addition to your current educator role. Training and qualification takes approximately 19-24 hours, and is completed at your own pace within the project time frame. Scoring begins after qualification on January 27th and concludes on May 29 . Portfolio volume varies throughout the season, and depending on the content area. However, we ask that Scorers commit to scoring 1-2 portfolios per week during our peak times. Portfolios take an average of 2-3 hours to score.
