The Boeing Company has an exciting opportunity for a Systems Engineer - Missile Defense Cyber Security to join our dynamic team in Colorado Springs, CO. The C2BMC National Team provides technical solutions to the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Command, Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC) program. This program is the integrating element for the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) and links various sensors and weapon systems. C2BMC integrates and synchronizes missile defense systems and operations, providing a layered defense against all ranges of threats and in all phases of flight.

Position Responsibilities:
Support the C2BMC Cyber Team with protection of information assets across an operation system and lab environment. Support the program's software and hardware baseline through the prevention of network attacks; the evaluation of system security capabilities; the assessment of vulnerabilities and risk, the detection of exploits; development of threat response, risk mitigation plans, the engagement of countermeasures, and network monitoring capabilities; performs limited penetration testing and routine exploit analysis; analyzes architecture and system functionality for multiple technologies; performs automated vulnerability testing; evaluates system security configurations; contributes to the development and evaluation of attack scenarios; evaluates findings and conducts root cause analysis; prepares and delivers technical reports and briefings.

This position requires an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

•Minimum of Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
•DoD 8570 certification at IAT Level II or higher (Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA)
•Experience with Information Assurance policies and procedures and the ability to apply IA requirements to an existing system.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

•Experience with security engineering skills of Information Assurance (IA) technology, NIST standards, DoDI 8500.2 and SP 800-53
•Familiarity with IA concepts such as patch management, two-factor authentication, host-based security, intrusion detection, security event management and defense-in-depth
•Experience installing, and testing patches on Windows and Linux platforms is a plus
•Able to detect IA vulnerabilities through Nessus scanning and POA&M reporting is a plus
•BDS Engineering Candidates Desired

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
