Job Description

Our Internal Operations team is responsible for the creation and day-to-day support of our office experiences worldwide. In order to make this all happen we have four subteams: Culinary, Real Estate, Technical Infrastructure and Internal Solutions. As Shopify grows globally, we often have complex special projects that cross our sub-team disciplines. This is where you come in! We’re looking for a Project Manager to lead special projects that impact all of Internal Operations (think post-acquisition integrations or creating experimental spaces).

Here are some examples of what you would be responsible for:

    • Managing Internal Operations acquisition integration projects from start to finish. From hosting regular stand ups to forming new strategies to clearing out storage rooms, you will be the go-to acquisitions person in our department.
    • Working closely with other Shopify teams who support acquisition integrations (Talent, IT, etc.) to ensure a smooth experience for our new team members.
    • Managing other special projects as needed.
    • Piloting new processes - other members of our team will be creating new processes and tools for PMs across our department. You’ll get to try them out and provide feedback.
    • Maintaining high level project documentation.
    • Creating strong relationships with leaders in the project area.
    • Promoting transparency and communication. You’ll be a context broker who is passionate about sharing information and connecting people.
    • Localizing Shopify programs to be more impactful for different environments.
    • Spotting deliverables that might be at risk.

You’ll need to:

    • Have experience running very complex projects from start to finish. Complexity can come in many forms, but this could be projects with many stakeholders, sensitive subject matter, international projects, etc.
    • Have experience building high trust battery relationships quickly
    • Be an excellent and proactive communicator (both written and verbal)
    • Have the ability to resolve conflict quickly
    • Have an interest in driving collaborative thought and finding solutions across a broad group of stakeholders
    • Care deeply about supporting people through periods of change
    • Know when to provide the right context to the right people
    • Switch frequently between high-level strategic thinking and detail-oriented work
    • Travel internationally from time to time

It would be great if you:

    • Have been part of a post-acquisition integration team before
    • Have experience working as part of a global team in multiple time zones
