The Payments, Virtual Solutions, and Innovation (PVSI) team includes Operations, Consumer Credit Card, Retail Services, Consumer Deposits, the Innovation Group, Treasury Management, Merchant Services, Marketing and Wells Fargo Virtual Channels and the professional services teams that partner with these businesses. PVSI's focus is on delivering the next generation of payments and deposit capabilities and advancing our digital and online offerings to design new customer experiences and products. Within the PVSI Operations our Operations Business Excellence (OBX) team leads several utility functions in support of Operations – including Customer Experience & Readiness, Policy, Program Implementation and Sustainment, Incident & Recovery Management, Quality Management, Data Analytics, and Strategy Planning and Transformation.

The Document Excellence team lead role for Operations is responsible for ensuring effective and efficient delivery of over 10k procedures in support of the businesses. The role will provide strategic and transformational leadership in the application of developing and establishing a control minded function. It will also work with business and BU control, legal and compliance leaders to ensure strong standards are developed to meet the heightened expectations, policy and regulatory compliance requirements. Additionally this role will provide overall business support for the Operations Policy, Program Implementation and Sustainment (OPPIS) team including executive level reporting and communications, manage team routines and ad-hoc administrative tasks.

Specifically, this role will have responsibility for:

  • Provides Business Support to the Operations Policies, Programs, Implementation and Sustainment team. Duties include, but not limited to: development of executive reporting, creation and tracking of team priorities, team meetings and recognition, assist in developing other reporting as needed.
  • Further advancing and developing the procedure documentation strategy to support all of PVSI Operations
  • Documents and build roadmap
  • Leads strategic discussions with the team in transforming the environment ensuring appropriate controls are established mitigating risk for the business
  • Continue to centralize all procedures work within Operations under the Operations Document Excellence Team.
  • Acts as documentation representative on cross-functional efforts
  • Aligns and implement Business Process Management (BPM) certification plan
  • Partners with BU Control team, legal and Compliance to establish strong framework as part of the operating model.
  • Develops quality program to ensure team adherence to the operating model
  • Establishes clearly defined control monitoring strategy and plan with visibility to results
  • Creates executive level presentations as needed
  • Provides reporting feedback and support for team
  • Ensures leader visibility into lower exposure efforts
  • Organize, develop and refine all team information for leadership meetings like business reviews with group, division and Risk leadership
  • Develop, implement and sustain reporting routines for group objectives, including annual plan and periodic progress reporting on those plans
  • Coordination and facilitate meeting routines for team, including weekly staff calls and quarterly All Team calls
  • Manage all ad-hoc administrative tasks and reporting for team

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: administrative support management, project management, business operations or strategic planning in financial services
  • 3+ years of management experience


Other Desired Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: business operations, implementation, strategic planning, compliance, or operational risk management
  • 4+ years of management experience

BPM expertise:

  • Strong knowledge of Wells Fargo’s BPM program and policy or industry-related program/policy
  • Proficiency in operational risk management practices

People leadership and teamwork:

  • Strong ability to lead and influence teams – direct and virtual
  • Proven experience in building partnerships, collaborating and influencing at senior levels, across lines of business as well as with corporate partners

Process and risk management:

  • Process design and management experience – understanding risk assessment and control design/management
  • Experience identifying emerging risk and taking proactive approaches to mediate or mitigate
  • Demonstrated ability to execute complex initiatives involving multiple business groups

Communications and reporting:

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to aggregate and analyze disparate data to draw relevant insights
  • Ability to “tell the story” both verbally and in written for
