Director-Cyber Security (Cyber Security Operations)

Job Description

We are seeking an extraordinary, operational leader in Managed Security Services who will be passionate about leading a high performing team of network operators executing fault incident and change management of critical government networks. The Director of Network Operations will be a forward-thinking operator with a deep understanding of network architecture, operations, technology, and automation transforming the cybersecurity landscape. The successful candidate will be mission-oriented and a master of change, with a desire to work with an entrepreneurial mindset. This individual will strategize and execute the most effective way to operate client networks in a dynamic threat landscape through examining and continually iterating on the team’s people, processes, and tools. By leveraging their knowledge of network operations industry best practices, the Director of Network Operations will promote and support a culture of excellence in assuring integrity and operations of client networks while remaining a pivotal contributor to the organization’s response management strategy.
Role Responsibilities
● Manages multiple network operations teams.
● Ensures performance metrics are achieved, increasing productivity, reducing unit costs, managing budget and performance of team.
● Communicates with clients on operational issues, handles escalations, and notifies Client Services of high severity and chronic network issues.
● Performs complex problem solving during critical outages.
● Manages personnel development, coaching, and conflict for team members.
● Foster mission-drive culture that supports excellence in defending customers and providing a premier experience across a geographically dispersed work force ● Consistently look to challenge the norm of Cybersecurity Operations, and improving day-to-day client service techniques to adapt to the changes in client expectations and dynamic threat landscape
● Drive greater automation to increase productivity, scalability and ultimately drive improvements in customer satisfaction
● Develop an agile operations team that can quickly adapt to the rapidly changing cyber-threat landscape
● Prepare and implement strategic and operational plans and actions to ensure that facilities systems, procedures, staffing, support services and capacity are available when needed and at required levels
● Ownership of all SOC processes; maintaining, improving and educating, with an aim towards achieving ultimate efficiency and effectiveness in security operations
● Maintain, support and develop a group of leaders capable of interacting with clients and staff in a highly credible and professional manner and who instill confidence and credibility
● Foster a culture of learning and continuous improvement within operations
● Foster a culture of innovation, in an environment that requires high levels of scalability, predictability and reliability
● Foster a culture of adaptability, accepting the dynamic cyber-threat landscape, that demands immediate response during incidents, instilling confidence in our clients
● Operate as a trusted advisor at the executive level for accounts and assist with executive briefings
Requirements
● A degree in Computer Science or relevant field, MBA preferred
● Working knowledge of current and transformational security architectures and devices
● Working knowledge of operations management including Day 1 and Day 2 support.
● Working knowledge of lateral movement, footholds, and data exfiltration techniques
● 10+ years people management experience
● Knowledge of Cyber-security Laws, Personal Data Protection Act, industry standards and information security policy frameworks
● Exceptional leadership and team building skills with a track record of recruiting top talent, developing top talent and managing top talent to work cooperatively and effectively together
