Job Description
The VP, Sales & Marketing, DePuy Synthes and Mentor is accountable for the overall management and business results of the Depuy Synthes and Mentor Worldwide businesses in Canada. He/she leads a team of sales and marketing leaders in the development and implementation of strategies, business plans and all aspects of commercial execution including customer and market insights, segmentation, forecasting, pricing and launch excellence for the full portfolio of products. As a member of the Johnson & Johnson Medical Devices Companies (JJMDC) Leadership Team, directly contributes to the development of broad JJMDC strategies.
The primary responsibilities include:
- Responsible for leading the sales and marketing organization to achieve sales goals, profitability and growth expectations.
- Develops and executes sales and marketing strategies and tactics to ensure competitiveness and maximize business results.
- Accountable for continuing to elevate leadership capabilities through coaching, people development and building a culture that drives the strategic agenda.
- Responsible for employee engagement, retention and maintaining a strong pipeline of top diverse talent.
- Builds strong working partnerships and collaborates with internal cross-functional teams and Medical Devices (MD) Centers of Excellence.
- Connects and uses multiple internal resources and partners to develop tailored solutions for customers.
- Collaborates with customers to develop and bring to bear long term relationships and ensure strong customer insights.
- Leads cohesive marketing strategies, building and leading C-Suite relationships with key customers, and partnering with the Strategic Customer Group (SCG) organization on franchise contract strategies
- Contributes to JJMDC strategies and represents Canadian marketplace point of View (POV) to shape global source company strategies.
- Ensures applicable company compliance with all relevant country and regional requirements, company regulations, policies and procedures.
- Leads complex external joint venture partnerships as applicable.
- Member of JJMDC Leadership Team; this position, along with the other franchise leader positions represents the voice of the clinical customer to the JJMC Leadership Team.
Qualifications - University degree is required, preferably in Life Sciences or Business; MBA an asset
- 8+ years relevant sales and marketing leadership experience, experiences across multiple brands preferred
- Strong knowledge of the medical devices industry
- 5+ years leading successful teams; including effective hiring, employee development, engagement, diversity and innovative thinking
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop leaders to achieve high performance
- Talent champion: mentoring, developing and building a diverse pipeline of talent
- Excellent understanding of customer and industry trends
- Exceptional Business & Financial Acumen
- Effective communication and ability to influence
- Ability to lead change and shape transformational business strategies
- Track record of driving business performance and growth through others
- Proven ability to forge internal collaboration across all levels of the enterprise in a matrix organization and master complexity
- Spoken/ written bilingualism an asset (French).
