Job Description
Raytheon is seeking a Director I, Business Development and Capture Management to develop, identify and assess new business opportunities, and position new business resources to achieve growth objectives for the Secure Sensor Solutions (SSS) Advanced Early Warning and Reconnaissance Systems (AEWRS) business. New business pursuits will focus on early warning radar solutions for Homeland Defense, US Navy, Air Force and International customers, ranging from $100M - $500M in program value. The successful candidate will possess the skills and expertise to develop growth strategies for high-consequence markets, shape key customer and partner relationships to achieve business results, and lead market development initiatives to expand the program area into high-value adjacent domestic and international markets.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Product line growth strategy. Develop strategic plans to advance program area and product line objectives that promote revenue and profitability and capitalize on rapidly evolving customer needs across domestic and international markets. Create and articulate innovative solutions that effectively leverage Raytheon’s core early warning radar products and technologies, and obtain most efficient and effective use of company investments and product line commonality strategies. Develop and implement internal and external partnership strategies to increase AEWRS market opportunities across the early warning radar value chain. Identify opportunities to successfully capture adjacent market share by bridging AEWRS’ existing customer base into related domestic and international domains and establishing SSS/AEWRS as a Low Band sensor leader in dramatically expanding global markets.
Pipeline development: Develop, identify, assess, and track new AEWRS business opportunities, effectively prioritize new business resources, and convert pipeline opportunities into capture opportunities to achieve growth objectives for pursuits that individually range from $100M - $500M, with aggregate market potential in the $1B range including new program captures and adjacent markets
Customer / Market Knowledge: Develop outstanding relationships with key customers; leverage a network of direct and indirect senior customer decision makers and influencers, and shape customer planning throughout the creation, qualification and development of new business opportunities to ensure business development efforts are aligned with customer priorities and AEWRS growth objectives. The successful candidate must have the ability to evaluate and understand complex market landscapes, the inter-relationships between key customers and domains, and the process for leveraging AEWRS core capabilities into a new customer base with significant potential revenue growth. . The Director Business Development will have a strong working knowledge of U.S. and international contracting including acquisition, funding and international licensing processes and regulations; and will be experienced in successfully engaging U.S. and international government entities for advocacy and compliance matters.
- Capture execution: Develop and lead AEWRS business captures; develop pricing and win strategies, prepare gate reviews, ensure capture process compliance and transition to capture execution team. Need to understand operational value of AEWRS products and how they integrate within land based and airborne sensors and effectors from both an operational and mission solution perspective.
Required Qualifications:- 15+ years of professional related working experience
- Successful business capture experience in the land and airborne systems market
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to present and articulate technical and business issues to senior internal and external customers with the ability to influence at all levels of an organization
- Working knowledge of early warning radar systems and strategic airborne platforms and missions
- Strategic thinker; strong ability to elicit and synthesize business intelligence from multiple sources, evaluate complex market factors and create innovative and winning market entry and capture strategies. Deep understanding of broader company capabilities and ability to collaborate successfully across internal organizations to leverage enterprise solutions
- Solid understanding of government contracting processes, including the ability to understand policy and regulatory issues and effectively advocate for Raytheon solutions
- Experience in developing strategic adjacent markets to capture growth potential for core program capabilities
- Expertise in leveraging partnerships for business creation

Desired Qualifications:- US military fixed wing tactical or strategic aviation and airborne radar expertise, extensive operational experience and familiarity with land based radar systems
- International capture experience
- Foreign language skills
Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field
Desired Education: MBA or other advanced degree
