The Products and Marketing Role

Guavus has two GTM motions, an ideation lead initiative which has tight partnership and collaboration with CSPs and a product business of analytics platform and applications.

The product and marketing executive we seek is a highly innovative and experienced person with extensive experience marketing and building complex big data analytics software solutions. A background developing partners and forging GTM strategies with the tier-1 mobile carriers would be ideal.

Guavus is morphing from a services/product company to a transformational solution company for service providers and Industrial IOT (although our solutions apply to many other verticals). This shift from selling point solutions to engaging organizational leaders around the area of transformation is a shift in current sales motion, and will require enablement and a message that is able to guide partners and our direct sales team to sell wide and high.

We seek an innovative and highly driven marketing executive who has proven the ability to strategically position and create an innovative product and brand identity for highly complex big data analytics solutions.

This individual will possess a track record of leading and guiding product and marketing teams, and their record of consistently meeting and exceeding revenue goals will be one of their strongest and most distinguishing characteristics. This role will own all aspects of marketing: AR, PR, Lead Development, Positioning, Product Marketing, Strategic Marketing. Guavus is part customer innovation led and part product company that would benefit from candidates who have lived in both worlds.

What will separate you from the candidate pool is your unique ability to quickly assimilate the attributes and product potential of Guavus’ disruptive IP – identify, distill and package the true customer benefits of this technology in a succinct value proposition statement – and then provide the tools and internal passion to drive and evangelize this value statement to Guavus’ highest value customer/vertical targets, and to the industry trade press and analyst community.

They will be recognizable by their passionate work ethic, inspirational leadership qualities, and collaborative and empowering management style, and will be able to develop and enable distributed teams to see beyond the current.

The individual we seek will step into a successful and functional company with trailing revenues of $30M – a portfolio of highly differentiated IP – and an embedded base of customers comprised of the “Who’s Who” of the world’s leading communications service providers.

They will step into a highly entrepreneurial, startup-like environment that now has the financial backing of one of Europe’s most successful multi-national conglomerates, and they will be given the autonomy to continue growing the company’s revenues and influence in the CSP vertical, while having the opportunity to exploit IoT and big data application sales opportunities in Thales’ many sensor-rich manufacturing subsidiaries.

Key responsibilities for this role will include:

  • Oversee the hiring and development of a North American marketing and product management organization, appropriate for the company’s maturity/size.
  • Be a role model for the company culture.
  • Strategic planning including corporate positioning, market and competitive analysis, customer segment selection and penetration plans, and related product positioning.
  • Oversee marketing communications including branding, public relations, advertising, white papers, trade shows, seminars and events, collateral materials, analyst and market research management, and website design and content either directly or on an outsourced basis.
  • Define and direct marketing programs for demand creation, lead generation and interface with sales VP for lead tracking and management.
  • Work closely with the VP Sales & Business Development to develop and manage channel and partner strategies and programs.
  • Oversee product management including market and customer research for market and product requirements, interface with engineering for product development, product pricing and product lifecycle management.
  • Oversee product marketing including product launch mgmt., sales training, presentations, sales tools, competitive analysis and general sales support.
  • Work with the CEO and the other executive team members to identify and develop strategic alliances and communicate effectively with Thales upper management.
  • Develop and manage the Guavus’ entire marketing budget.
  • Develop and track metrics and success criteria for all marketing programs and activities.
  • Act as spokesperson for Guavus with press and analysts and at industry events.
